Hi PatrickSD,

Updater

The installation of windows updates fails, if there is an interruption of non Microsoft services running on the computer. Many a times the non Microsoft programs interrupt the installation of the updates resulting in either failure of the update installation or incomplete installation. This causes the updates to malfunction.
The major non Microsoft programs that interrupt update installation are: security software, firewalls, media software.

Nevertheless, updates are additions to software that can help prevent or fix problems, improve how your computer works, or enhance your computing experience. I would recommend you to keep the computer up to date.

Safe

In order to install any windows update successfully, it’s recommended to disable all the non Microsoft services running on the computer and then install the updates one by one.
The purpose of installing the updates either one or two at a time is because some of the updates need system restart for the changes to take effect.
