Opening Prayers For Worship Methodist

A typical worship service at Memorial United Methodist church may include a greeting and opening prayer, time for people to greet each other, scripture readings, silent prayer and meditation, an offering, the Lord's Prayer, a children's message, the sermon, special music and hymns, and a closing prayer.
Our morning service is a blend of time honored hymns and contemporary worship songs. We have special music from our adult choir, children's choir or individuals. We seek to have Christ centered services focused on prayer and Bible based messages.
Communion may also be served. All are invited to celebrate communion, but you can choose whether or not you wish to participate.
We will print words and responses in the bulletins to help those who are unfamiliar with United Methodist worship.
Visit our Maps and Directions page for driving directions to the church as well as street and satellite maps.
If you would like more information about the worship service please contact us via our online form or call the church office at the number listed below.

We thank you for the many blessings you have given us over this past year.

God, we thank you for all of the blessings you have given us throughout our lives:
Food to eat,
Clothes to wear,
Shelter from the storm,
People who love us unconditionally.

We thank you for their love because we recognize that their love for us is a reflection of your love.
We acknowledge that there are times in our lives when we, ourselves, feel unloved and unlovable.
Give us the grace to love others, even when they are difficult.

How can we thank you enough for all you have given us, Lord?
We have so much, more than enough to supply all our needs.
As we present our tithes and offerings today, make us mindful of the people, especially the children, whose earthly needs we are called to supply.
In deepest gratitude, we offer ourselves back to you,
for your service and your will.
In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen.
