Especially so in the season 1 finale, when he ends up losing to Lui and, despite the latter demanding a do-over (due to Valtryek bursting on its own via a crack in the beystadium), he tells Lui that he deserved that win and that he'll defeat him for real one day.
• Hair Decorations: His yellow headband.
• Heavenly Blue: His Beyblade is an angelic blue.
• The Hero: He is the main protagonist of the first two seasons. In season 3, his role is filled by Aiger Akabane.

• Mid-Season Upgrade: Two over the course of Beyblade Burst Evolution:
  • The first is the Strike God Chip, aka the Genesis Special, which disables the Spring Layer, but dramatically increases the Bey's Attack Power.
  • The second is the Ultimate Reboot tip, which increases the speed boost of the original Reboot tip.
• Min-Maxing: The addition of the Genesis Special disables the Spring Layer, which cushioned impacts and allows for high speed rebounds, thus reducing Valtryek's Burst resistance. In return however, normal Attacks with the Locked Layer become far stronger than what the Spring Layer could ever hope to achieve.

• Power Incontinence: The combination of his Beyblading potential, his lack of understanding his bey, the special moves he develops, his opponents, and his emotional state during battles usually affects his victories and losses. This also applies to his bey. Whenever Valtryek improves in some way, Valt has to overcome a learning curve to control it.
  • First is when the Variable Tip 'awakened' and drastically sped up. The Rush Launch became sloppy and inconsistent and wasted power (though it was still powerful) before Valt was able to control it.
  • Second is when Valt's Beyblade was upgraded to Genesis Valtryek, since the Reboot Tip didn't work well with the angles the Variable Tip needed.
  • Third is when Valt discovered the true function of the Reboot Tip and had trouble with the timing and launch strength it needed.
  • Fourth is when the Genesis Special was first applied, resulting in strategies used previously becoming inapplicable.
  • Fifth is when the Ultimate Reboot Tip was introduced, as it was too fast and sent Genesis Valtryek flying into the walls, which caused self-Bursts. Weaponized since the Layer without the Chip thrived off of wall collisions, allowing Valt to perform well in the tournament until he could control it properly with the Genesis Special in place.
  • Subverted with the upgrade to Wonder Valtryek, where he can control it just fine.
• Pint-Sized Kid: Have you seen how tiny he is?! Though, he ends up growing a couple of inches in Turbo.
• Pint-Sized Powerhouse: What he lacks in size, he more than makes up for in blading skills. He sums it up pretty well when participating in tryouts for BC Sol:

  • The Spring Attack, where Genesis Valtyrek's Spring Layer tanks an attack using its frame and uses the recoil with additional speed and power to finish attacking.
• So Last Season: Valt's Winged Launch allowed him to become a Front-Runner in the Japanese Nationals. On the World Stage? It's upgrade, the Spring Winged Launch, is typically the bare minimum needed to make World Level Bladers flinch.

• The Ace: In episode one, we're informed that Shu is a beyblading prodigy and a hometown favorite.
  • This is further expanded upon when Shu is revealed to be the Balance Type Supreme Four member, meaning that he's recognized as the strongest Balance Type user in Japan.
• Adorably Precocious Child: Even at 11 years old, he's a genius.
• An Axe to Grind: Spryzen's beast wields an axe. Mid-season 2, he takes this even further during his Battle in the Center of the Mind, where he himself actually wields Spryzen's axe.
• Badass Longcoat: He wears a long black coat in Turbo.
• Beware the Quiet Ones: Even though he's quiet, he's got incredible beyblading skills.
• Big Brother Mentor: He may not be Valt's actual brother, but he always guides him on the path of a blader.
• Blinding Bangs: His bangs cover the scar on his right eye.
• Brainwashed and Crazy: His experiences in the Snake Pit's Requiem Project and his ever increasing obsession to win end up making Shu actually believe he is Spryzen. He snaps out of it through the shock of losing to Valt in the finale.

• Easily Forgiven: His friends all have no hard feelings for his actions as Red Eye and happily welcome him back in the Evolution season finale.
• Evil Costume Switch: After joining the Snake Pit in Evolution he wears a black and red bodysuit under a white sleeveless tailcoat.
• Eyes Are Unbreakable: Shu got his scar from Lui aiming Spryzen at his face during their battle in the previous National Tournament, but his scarred eye is still perfectly intact. And, due to this series' target audience, he wasn't seen visibly bleeding from his eye afterwards.

• Fingerless Gloves: Or glove. He wears a single red glove on his right hand.
• Foil: To Lui. Both are strong bladers with an intense passion and desire to stand at the top. However, whereas Shu is aloof yet kind, has friends who support him, and admits he is the person he is now because of those friends, Lui is an asocial loner who only cares about himself, views kindness as a sign of weakness, and has no qualms about harming those who get in his way. Ironically enough, Shu started to act more like Lui after becoming Red Eye in season 2.
• A Friend in Need: He's always there for Valt. One example in particular.
• Good Scars, Evil Scars: Has one on his right eye. It's later revealed during episode 39's flashback that Lui inflicted the scar in their first battle.
• Glowing Eyes of Doom: His eyes glow a terrifying blood red when under Spryzen Requiem's mind control. His scar also glows as well.
• Handicapped Badass: Beginning with episode 10, he spends most of the first season recovering from an injured shoulder. He never lets it stop him from beyblading, regardless of what others tell him. He seems to have fully healed by the time of the Individual Tournaments.
• Harmful Healing: Shu's strategy with Spryzen Requiem in counterclockwise Attack Mode is to give spin to the opponent. So much that the opponent's Beyblade goes out of control and severely damages itself against the stadium walls until they become easy targets for a Requiem Whip.
• Heroic Albino: Has white hair and red eyes, and is Valt's best friend and one of the main characters in the series. Subverted hard in 'Evolution' when we discover that he is Red Eye, though if only because Spryzen is controlling him.
• Jack-of-All-Stats: As a Balance Type, Shu's Storm Spryzen is this on paper, but his strategy and skill turns his Beyblade into a Lightning Bruiser.
• Karma Houdini: Played with. He does apologize for what he did as Red Eye, but doesn't really face any consequences. Justified in that his actions weren't really his fault to begin with.
• The Lancer: He's Valt's closest friend and is the deuteragonist of the series.
• The Leader: Becomes the new manager of the Raging Bulls in Turbo
• Light Masculine and Dark Masculine: Shu's calm nature contrasts with Valt's peppy personality.

The Bey is capable of Dual Rotation, has rubber on the Layer that allows it to steal spin from opponents of either spin direction (read: anyone), and the Tip has three settings; Attack, Defense and Stamina and can perform the same feats as the previous Spryzen Beyblades.
• The Mentor: Acts as one to Valt, and is always there to steer him in the right direction. He also becomes one offscreen to Fubuki Sumiye.
• Meaningful Name: His surname is Japanese for 'crimson', a shade of red. His first name also means 'top class'.
• My Greatest Failure: His appearance in #35 of Turbo shows that he clearly regrets what he allowed himself to become last season.

Rantaro 'Honcho' Kiyama

His bey's name is derived from Ragnarök, a major war that marked the end of the world from Norse Mythology.

  Valt: 'Not all of us can pull off wearing a cape to school everyday.'

• Carry a Big Stick: He's always seen carrying around a large white paper fan.

• Cool Big Bro: A flashback in Turbo #3 reveals that Rantaro taught Ranjiro how to Beyblade.

  • Power Up Letdown: The Grip is heavy and awkward and (when not used properly) very easily makes Rantaro's mislaunch so bad he Bursts against a generic blader.
• Next Tier Power-Up: Berserk Roktavor is a direct upgrade to Raging Roktavor with very similar performance, giving Rantaro a shorter learning curve.
  • Deconstructed. Due to how similar Berserk Roktavor is to its predecessor, there are few, if any, strategies Rantaro can use that he hasn't already explored with Raging Roktavor. As such, Rantaro theoretically has very little room for growth.

• Overshadowed by Awesome: Rantaro is genuinely a strong blader as shown by his ability to casually curb stomp generic bladers, and his close battle with Ukyo, a blader who was a Nationals Veteran, proves he is at least in the middle tier of the National Level. However, compared to the likes of the Supreme Four, he just can't keep up.
  • This is also shown in Beyblade Burst Evolution where he curb stomps every BC Sol hopeful in the qualifiers up until he faces Valt. Furthermore, the fact that the Snake Pit created a copy of his Beyblade and trained one of their members to copy Rantaro's technique to further their research proves that he's well above average. Just not enough to stand up to the upper echelons.
• Pointless Band-Aid: Has one on the bridge of his nose.
• Playing with Fire: Roktavor's avatar shoots flames from its hands. His next beyblade, Berserk Roktavor takes this trope even further.
• Real Boys Eat Meat: He's very..passionate about getting his meat, to the point where he threw a fit when Wakiya swiped an entire plate of kabobs meant for him, leaving him nothing but a single green onion.
• Signature Move: Rantaro's signature move in season 1 is the Roktavor Zone, where he takes the center of the stadium to preserve his stamina while also using his bey's Revolve tip to increase the centrifugal force, creating a wall of energy that can knock his opponents out.
  • In Evolution he improves on this to create the Ultra Roktavor Zone, where Roktavor's spin power envails with flames to stabilize stamina and damage the opposing bey.
• Stone Wall: Being a stamina type, his Roktavor can spin for a while and its special move, Rokatvor Zone, allows it to spin while reducing stamina loss, but it has low attack power and limited mobility as a drawback. Ken calls out Rantaro for only focusing on endurance and to train to improve beyond its natural abilities.
• Took a Level in Badass: Upon his rematch with the Snake Pit's Yellow Eye in the team championships, he easily defeats Yellow in a one round Burst.
• The Worf Effect: Despite going far in most battles and getting through the first few rounds in tournaments, he often loses either to establish the power of a new opponent (Ukyo) or show how much the other characters have grown (Valt, Ken).
• Worf Had the Flu: Early on in God, Rantaro didn't understand his bey, so he never understood how Berserk Roktavor was able to improve it's rotation and centrifugal force through it's wings.
• Vitriolic Best Buds: With Valt, though Downplayed. They often get into minor scuffles, but they have each others' backs through and through. He and Wakiya also become this to a larger extent.
• Younger Than They Look: He looks like a teenager, but is actually 11, just like Valt and Shu.
• Yellow Lightning, Blue Lightning: Honcho and Valt represent them, regarding their beys' aura colors.

Ken(suke) Midori(kawa)

Daina (Daigo) Kurogami

• Berserk Button: After the incident with Yugo, sabotage and deception have since become huge ones for him.
• Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Pulled this on Valt in episode 5, only to change his ways once Valt defeated him.
• The Comically Serious: Like Shu, he's one of the more serious characters, but after becoming friends with Valt he gets in a few comedic moments, such as a couple of face faults.
• Cool Big Bro: Towards his little brother, Ryota.
• Curtains Match the Window: Black hair and black eyes.
• Curb-Stomp Battle: Gave one to Melos Nekota by defeating him with a 5 SECOND Burst Finish.
• Defeat Means Friendship: How he and Valt eventually become friends.
• Defrosting Ice King: Non-romantic example. He was initially cold and distant, but starts to warm up after losing to Valt.
• Dark Is Not Evil: He acts rude and originally enjoyed belittling his opponents, but he's just a guy who wants to support his sick brother. Even more so once he joins the Bey Club.
• Deadpan Snarker: He's not as snarky as Honcho, but he has his moments. Bonus points for usually speaking in a deadpan tone.
• Dual Wielding: Doomscizor's bit beast wields two scythes.

• Glass Cannon: His Doomscizor is an attack type like Valtyrek and is incredibly fast, strong, and unpredictable. Though its stamina isn't so good.
• The Grim Reaper: What his bey, Dark Doomscizor is based on.
• The Leader: In season 2, he becomes the captain of AS Gallus, the French representative of the World Beyblade Tournament.
• Meaningful Name: His surname contains the Japanese prefix, 'Kuro-', meaning 'dark' or 'black'.

• Only Sane Man: He's up there with Shu and the twins, as he usually serves as the team's voice of reason.
• Perky Goth: Mostly dresses in dark clothing, but is actually very kind and fun-loving.
• Perpetual Frowner: Although he does smile more in later episodes.
• Purple Is the New Black: He wears purple and black and his Beyblade is also of the same colors.
• Purple Is Powerful: His beyblade and aura are dark purple, and he's got the power and skills to back it up.
• Raven Hair, Ivory Skin: Has black hair and pale skin.
• Signature Move: His Special Move in season 1 is Quake Launch, a technique where Doomscizor uses its unpredictable movements to either strike the foe or use it as a counter attack.
  • In season 2, he develops two new specials: Hunt Launch, where Doomscizor uses its Hunter tip to attack the opponent at high speeds, and Double Strike, where after making contact with the Bey with the black blade, the sharp edge of the blue blade adds impact to it, causing attacks with literally two scythes; this attack has a high chance of bursting the opponent's bey. It can also be used to attack a Bey when it is above the stadium, or hitting the beystadium and using the recoil as additional attack power.
• Team Dad: He's always looking out for his teammates, and often breaks up arguments between Honcho and Wakiya.
• The Smart Guy: Shares this role with Wakiya in the club, being able to analyze and predict his opponents' movements and discover their weaknesses.

• Sugar-and-Ice Personality: Starts to show his kinder side more often after becoming friends with Valt.

• Took a Level in Badass: Over time, he's gotten more assertive and confident with his Beyblade skills. Blading wise, he's able to defeat Wakiya, defeat Ukyo in a rematch, and nearly forced Gabe into a tie. By season 2, he's become the leader of AS Gallus in the World Beyblade Tournament and manages to inspire his team. He's also the first blader to drive Joshua on the defensive and nearly beat him.
• 10-Minute Retirement: In episode 26, he decides to (temporarily) quit beyblading after being overcome with guilt for cheating in his match with Yugo. Fortunately, he gets better.
• Those Two Guys: Often seen hanging out with Wakiya, prior to joining the Bey Club.
• Took a Level in Kindness: By episode 6, he joins the Beyblade Club and becomes one of Valt's closest friends.
• Vocal Evolution: For the first 20 episodes of the English dub, he had a rather deep voice. Beginning with episode 21, his voice is slightly higher (due to Zach LeBlanc taking over voicing him).

Wakiya Komurasaki (Murasaki)

• Anti-Hero: See Good Is Not Nice below.
• Brought to You by the Letter 'S': He has a 'W' emblem on his belt buckle.
• Brutal Honesty: He's quite blunt, so don't expect him to pull any punches when he wants to say what's on his mind.
• Character Development: While his arrogance and competitive nature never completely disappear, he does become friendlier and more supportive of his friends.
• Dub Name Change: His surname is shortened to Murasaki in the English dub.
• Friendless Background: He had trouble making friends before meeting Hoji, since his arrogance and bossiness rubbed people the wrong way.
• The Friend Nobody Likes: After joining the Bey Club, he becomes this. He spends most of his time bossing the others around and trying to call the shots (despite Valt being the team captain), and getting into scuffles with Rantaro. However, they put up with him because he's a valuable asset to the team (Necessity) and because he's friends with Hoji (Proximity).
• Good Is Not Nice: He's one of the protagonists, but that doesn't make him any less abrasive.
• Hates Being Touched: Shows shades of this in episode 30, when Valt attempts to hug him.
• Heroic BSoD: Has one in episode 45, after Shu defeats him in the Individual tournament. Fortunately, Hoji manages to snap him out of it.
• Hidden Heart of Gold: He keeps it very well hidden, but when push comes to shove he's the first one to help out his friends. Especially true when he was the one to bring up the news of Shu going AWOL to Valt and Rantaro.
• Icy Blue Eyes: They highlight his usually cold and unimpressed demeanor.
• Improbable Age: He bought and owns a Bey Club in Season 2, despite only being 11.
• Insufferable Genius: He is strong and intelligent, and he makes sure everyone knows it.
• It's All About Me: To say that Wakiya has a rather high opinion of himself would be an understatement.
• Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Until his defeat by Zac, the only indications of it were his interactions with Hoji. He eventually mellows out.
  • Especially true in episode 28 when he goes out to look for Toko and Nika during a downpour.
• Kansai Regional Accent: He speaks with a Kansai accent in the Japanese version, which translates to a Southern accent in English.
• The Leader: In season 2, he becomes the leader of his own team, Sunbat United.
• Like an Old Married Couple: With Rantaro. The two bicker almost constantly, but are actually really good friends in the end.
• Lonely Rich Kid: Before he met Hoji. See Friendless Background above.
• Meaningful Name: See Purple Is Powerful below.
• Mighty Glacier: His Wyvron is a defense type capable of keeping up with Beys owned by the Supreme Four, but its speed is its weakest aspect, and both his special moves can be beaten by someone outspeeding it, or tricking Wakiya into making a Ring-Out Finish.
• Next Tier Power-Up: Tempest Wyvron is a direct upgrade to Wild Wyvron with similar performance, giving Wakiya a shorter learning curve.
  • Deconstructed. Due to how similar Tempest Wyvron is to its predecessor, there are few, if any, strategies Wakiya can use that he hasn't already explored with Wild Wyvron. As such, Wakiya theoretically has very little room for growth.
• No Social Skills: Because the only people he ever interacted with before he met Hoji were his servants who catered to his every whim, Wakiya initially believed that was how friendships worked. Thankfully, Character Development helped him grow out of it.
• The Only One Allowed to Defeat You: Views Shu as his #1 rival and trains vigorously everyday so he can beat him. Because of this mentality, he will either ignore and/or underestimate any opponents who aren't Shu.
• Our Dragons Are Different: His beyblade represents a Wyvern.
• Pet the Dog: He allows Valt to be the team captain, most likely as thanks for helping him in episode 28.
• Purple Is Powerful: He dresses in purple, his beyblade and aura are purple, his surname means 'purple' in Japanese, and he's a very powerful blader.
• Pushover Parents: It's heavily implied that his parents rarely (if ever) disciplined him, which contributes to his bratty behavior.
• Rich Bastard: His family owns an estate in the countryside, and his house is big enough to hold a built-in training facility, but most of the time, he's very cocky and condescending towards his peers. Silas leaves his team in season 2 because of it.
• The Smart Guy: Usually comes up with strategies and uses his intelligence to fight against opponents such as Shu, who uses raw talent. Even his Bey is made for a strategic purpose.
• Signature Move: He has three (later five special moves).
  • The first is Shield Launch, where Wyvron successfully claims the center of the stadium.
  • The second is Shield Crash, where Wyvron takes the opponent's attack and uses the momentum of climbing the stadium's slope to crash head-on with the opponent. This usually ends in a Burst Finish for the bey, but it can act as a double-edged sword if the opposing Bey is fast enough to dodge or counter attack it.
  • The third is Hyper Shield Crash, a stronger version of the Shield Crash where Wyvron is either attacked or goes to the top of the stadium and crashes down with even more force. This usually ends in a Burst or a Ring-out Finish.
  • The fourth is Tempest Shield, where Wyvron uses its free-spinning layer to fend off strikes.
  • The fifth is Super Tempest Attack, where Wyvron glides along the wall to gain more speed before bouncing off and attacking.
• Spoiled Brat: Episode 28 sheds some light on his rude behavior; his parents were always busy and he was constantly spoiled by his nannies. Silas even calls him a spoiled brat at one point.
• Symbol Motif Clothing: His usual attire has a Wyvern motif on it.
• Supernatural Is Purple: See Purple Is Powerful
• Tsundere: A rare male Type A example. He usually acts like a pompous jerk, but can be caring when he wants to be, if his interactions with Hoji are anything to go by. In season 2, he battles Silas in order to convince him to rejoin BC Sol and help him feel better. Or as he puts it, 'to make the European League more interesting'.
• Those Two Guys: Often seen hanging out with Daigo, prior to the latter joining the Bey Club.
• Took a Level in Kindness: Went from a spoiled rich kid who cared only about himself to a Blader who, while still somewhat full of himself, doesn't hesitate to help out his friends when they're in trouble.
• Vitriolic Best Buds: After joining the Bey Club, he becomes this with Rantaro.
• The Worf Effect: Wakiya doesn't fair well in Beyblade Burst Evolution. His team Sunbat United is eliminated from the running in the team championships early on (in an admittedly close match against a team with two members of the Big Five) and he's defeated by Valt and Rantaro while both were still inexperienced with their upgrades while he was fully familiar with his. Furthermore, he's also the only official character that Rantaro defeated without using his new Launcher Grip. This is worsened by the fact that he only has two victories throughout the entire season, once against Rantaro, which was used to demonstrate his new upgrade.
• Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: It's revealed in episode 28 that he's afraid of heights. This pops up again in episode 37 while helping Rantaro retrieve a little girl's balloon from a tree. And in season 2, he's too scared to zipline across a ravine, so Cuza has to push him across.
• Younger Than They Look: Like Rantaro, he's actually 11, despite looking like a teenager.

Kaiza 'Xhaka' Xhakuenji (Alexander 'Xander' Shakadera)

• The Ace: He's the Supreme Four member for Attack Types and is thus recognized as the best attack type user in Japan. In season 2 he is the 5th best blader in the world rankings and thus is part of the 'Big 5'.
• Bare Your Midriff: Rare male example, as his shirt does not hide his abs in the slightest.
• Big Brother Mentor: He acts as one to Valt and Shu, and always has their best interests at heart.
• Childhood Friend: He was friends with Valt and Shu in kindergarten up until he moved to another school.
• Crippling Overspecialization: Xander's strategy boils down to 'Attack. If the Attack is not strong enough, lose two clicks to attack harder' and Xcalius' design does not allow for any other strategies. Downplayed, however, as Xcalius' Attack power is so strong that trying to counter it is incredibly difficult.
• Critical Status Buff: When Xeno Xcalius is close to Bursting, the Layer's contact point and a point on its Disk line up, doubling its attack power and allowing it to use the aptly named 'Dual Sabers'. Season 2's upgrade Surge Xcalius has the same trait, allowing it to perform 'Triple Saber'.
• Dark-Skinned Redhead: He has tanned skin with red hair.
• Does Not Know His Own Strength: With three prime examples no less. The first example occurs when he accidentally knocks Valt down when trying to give him a fist bump in episode 14 of season one. The second is when he accidentally breaks the door to SB Rios' dojo in episode 25 of Evolution (which he strongly implies has happened to him before), and the third occurs when he breaks his sword launcher in the same episode.
• Dub Name Change: Xhaka —> Xander in the English dub.
• Dump Stat: Xeno Xcalius's design maximizes attack by specializing in One Hit Kills, but has critically low stamina.
• Gentle Giant: He's 6 feet tall and all muscle, but is really a big teddy bear.
• Heroic Build: Thanks to his extensive training in martial arts.
• The Hyena: There's hardly ever a moment when he isn't seen laughing.
• Large and in Charge: He towers over most of the main cast, and is the leader of both the Sword Flames and SB Rios
• Large Ham: Xander’s extremely bombastic and expresses his fighting spirit through laughter.
• The Leader: Of the Sword Flames, and later SB Rios in season 2.
• The Mentor: As shown in a flashback, he became one offscreen to Xavier Bogard.
• Min-Maxing: Xeno Xcalius has incredible Attack Power but very poor Stamina in exchange. Surge Xcalius takes this even further by reducing defenses to further increase Attack, to the point where it cannot rebound off a wall and will instead gouge gashes into it while sustaining heavy damage. Xander weaponizes this by sending Surge Xcalius into a wall to lose clicks and activate 'Triple Saber' if the opponent prevents him from doing so normally.
• Nice Guy: Though he gives many nightmarish smiles, Xander’s a nice guy who looks out for his friends and has a great sense of humor.
• Only Known by Their Nickname: His first name is Kaiza (Alexander in the dub), but his friends call him 'Xhaka' (Xander).
• O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Xander's normally a pretty easygoing guy and it takes a lot to anger him, but when he actually does get mad, you know you've screwed up big time.
• Playing with Fire: Not him, but Xcalius' spirit often manifests in a burst of flames.
• Red Eyes, Take Warning: Averted. His tall, muscular stature, red eyes, and sharp teeth make him look intimidating, but he's a genuinely good person.
• Reasonable Authority Figure: He's the leader of the Sword Flames dojo and is quick to praise his friends on their battles, regardless if they win or lose.
• Signature Move: 'Saber Strike', where Xeno Xcalius strikes the opponent with its single contact point; this move is typically strong enough to be a One-Hit Kill. Later Xander reveals 'Dual Sabers', where the contact point increases in mass due to the Disk lining up with the Layer, doubling the power.
  • When upgraded in Season 2 into Surge Xcalius, 'Dual Sabers' is now the default attack with 'Triple Saber' becoming what 'Dual Sabers' was originally
• Took a Level in Badass: Goes from one of the top four bladers in Japan to fifth best in the whole world. Goes further in the solo world championships where he defeats Ren Wu (No.4) and Joshua (No. 3) above him.
• Younger Than They Look: One can be forgiven for mistaking him for a fully grown adult at first glance, but he is actually 11 years old, the same age as Valt and Shu.

Yugo Nansui

• Berserk Button: He does NOT tolerate cheating, such as when he rightfully scolded Daigo for using an illegal move against him during their battle in episode 23.
• Counter Attack: This is Yugo’s signature style. Despite owning a Stamina type, Yugo’s battling style entails waiting for the opponent to reveal their strategy before figuring out its weakness and going in for the kill.
• Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He often comes off as aloof and hot-headed, but he's fiercely loyal to his teammates.
• The Lancer: Xander approves him as his right hand man.
• Meditation Powerup: Yugo often meditates to focus his energy into countering the opponent's Bey and figuring out its movements.
• Samurai: He trains himself to become a Beyblade version of this.
• Pointless Band-Aid: Has one under his left eye.
• Stone Wall: His Yegdrion is a stamina type that can hold its spin for longer periods thanks to its tip being made of a better gliding material to reduce friction. However, this can also work against it, as the lack of friction makes it difficult to stop if Yegdrion is hit with a strong attack.
• The Worf Effect: He's a strong blader, but mostly exists to be beaten by the main characters to show how much they've grown as he has never won against an official character.
• World Tree: His bey, Yugen Yegdrion, represents Yggdrasil, the Tree of Life from Norse Religion.

Ukyo Ibuki

• Counter Attack: His Unicrest's special move, Alicorn Launch acts as one by focusing all of its attack power on a single point.
• Curtains Match the Window: He has blue hair and blue eyes.
• Cool Horse: See Unicorn below.
• Gratuitous Ninja: He may not look like a ninja, but he definitely has the stealthiness of one.
• Handshake Refusal: He does this in his debut episode when Valt offers to shake hands.
  Ukyo: 'I hold my launcher with that hand; I prefer not to let future opponents touch it. The hand of a blader is a sacred thing. I accept your handshake in my mind, and I thank you for it.'
• Hidden Depths: He seems to have a knack for fixing skateboards, as seen in episode 29.
• Lightning Bruiser: Despite being a defense-type, his Unicrest is surprisingly fast and agile, and has a very low center of gravity. Its 9-bladed mane can deflect attacks, and its Alicorn Launch is a powerful counter-attack that pierces the opponent with its sharp horn.
• No Sense of Personal Space: As shown in his introduction, he will often approach others until he's standing close enough to literally step into their shadow.
• Nice Guy: He's generally polite towards his friends and rivals.
• The Quiet One: Usually the most soft-spoken of the Sword Flames.
• Unicorn: What his Beyblade, Uber Unicrest, represents.
• Underestimating Badassery: According to Xander, Ukyo has a habit of underestimating his opponents. He seems to be cognizant of this, however, based on his reactions whenever it's brought up.
• The South Paw: Like Orochi and Lui, he uses a left-handed launcher.
• Stealth Hi/Bye: His main schtick. It's the main reason for his nickname, the 'Shadow-Walker'.
• The Worf Effect: Ukyo was a genuinely strong blader in his debut. However, after losing to Ken, Ukyo hasn't won a single match against an official character since.

Zac 'the Sunrise' Kaneguro (Zenkuro Kurogane)

• The Ace: He's the Supreme Four member for Stamina types and thus, is recognized as the strongest Stamina type user in Japan.
• Brought to You by the Letter 'S': Similar to Wakiya, his belt has a 'Z' emblem on it.
• Chick Magnet: He's got a large amount of fangirls who cheer for him every match.
• Demoted to Extra: Zac's only appearance in Beyblade Burst Evolution is a cameo as a spectator in the finale, and he's never shown battling nor is it ever implied that he's playing on the World Stage, despite the existence of the Switch-Strike/God System Galaxy Zeutron in the toy-line.
• Dub Name Change: Zenkuro Kurogane —> Zachary Kaneguro in the English Dub.
• Do Not Call Me 'Paul': As shown in episode 43, he gets annoyed when Akira Yamatoga calls him by his real name, Zachary Kaneguro.
• Everything's Better with Spinning: His two special moves, 'Solar Boost' and 'Solstice Boost' involve Zac spinning around before launching in order to give Zeutron more momentum.

Unlike most Stamina types, it also reaches Lightning Bruiser levels since Zeutron's metal balls allow for strong defense and attack at high speeds. He managed to burst Hoji's Horusood with a single strike, and completely neutralized Wakiya's Shield Crash.
• Vague Age: He's canonically older than Valt and his friends, but his actual age is never said.

Orochi Ginba

• BFS: Odax's bit beast wields a giant sword.
• Chekhov's Skill: Orochi's hearing is so sharp that not only does he have perfect pitch, he can sense when a Bey is about to Burst. People call him 'the boy with the perfect ears' because of this.
• Headphones Equal Isolation: He usually keeps to himself while listening to music.
• Lightning Bruiser: His Odax possesses incredible speed, way more than the average attack-type, and its Blast Beat is a barrage attack that utilizes this speed to overwhelm the opponent. It was shown to be strong enough to stop Shu's Counter Break.
• Symbol Motif Clothing: His jacket has piano key designs on them, symbolizing his passion for music.
• The South Paw: Unlike most characters who use right-handed launchers, (except for Ukyo, Lui, and Shu, who's capable of launching with his left hand) he uses a left-handed launcher.

• The Worf Effect: Played straight and subverted. While he lives up to the hype and makes it to the semi-finals or finals in all three tournaments during the first season, he's defeated to either show how the protagonists can reach higher, as shown with his battle with Shu at the regionals and Valt during the Area Selection Tournament, and Gabe to establish why he's the leader of Rideout.

Ben Azuki

• The Leader: Of the Beasts.
• Determinator: He's one of the most driven characters in the show, and encourages this attitude in his opponents and his team, especially Ken.
• Gathering Steam: Betromoth starts slow, but becomes faster as the match progresses.
• Lightning Bruiser: His Betromoth is an attack type that, thanks to its special move, Beast Charge, is able to speed up during battle, as opposed to beys normally slowing down. Ken even outright says that it almost defies physics.
• Not So Different: He and Valt more or less share the same driven personality. And they both own Attack-type beys, too.
• Pointless Band-Aid: Has one on his left cheek.
• Those Two Guys: He and Ken are frequently seen hanging out together, after the latter joins Team Beasts.
• You Gotta Have Blue Hair: His is purple, a color he shares with his bey.

Ken(suke) Midori(kawa)

• Adorkable: His prominent fangs and shyness add to his charm.
• Badass Adorable: He's a skilled blader, and looks adorable while battling.
• The Bus Came Back: He returns in episode 30 as a member of Team Beasts.
• Cerberus: What his beyblade, King Kerbeus, represents.
• Character Development: He becomes more confident and learns to speak up more, as well as talking through his puppets less.
• Chromatic Arrangement: Represents green.
• Companion Cube: His two dog puppets, Keru and Besu.
• Cute Little Fangs: Both his parents have them, so it may be genetic in his case.
• Deadpan Snarker: He uses Keru when he wants to say something rude or snarky.
• Dub Name Change: His named is shortened to Ken Midori in the English dub.
• Demoted to Extra: While he returns in Beyblade Burst Evolution, he's never shown battling nor is it ever implied that he's playing on the World Stage, despite the existence of the Switch-Strike/God System Guardian Kerbeus in the toy-line.

• Intergenerational Friendship: Develops a strong friendship with Daigo's younger brother Ryota, who's probably around the same age as (if not younger than) Toko and Nika.
• I Just Want to Have Friends: He admits in episode 13 that for a while, he'd convinced himself that he didn't need any friends.

As shown in his battles with Lui and Shu, a Beyblade with significantly fast, strong attacks can overwhelm Kerbeus.
• Nice Guy: If you're willing to look past his shyness, you'll find Ken to be a sweet, gentle kid underneath.
• Performance Anxiety: He tends to second-guess himself when under pressure.
• Put on a Bus: He moves to another school in episode 21, due to his family's career. See The Bus Came Back above. In season 2, he doesn't appear as much as the rest of the Beigoma Bey Club with the exception of Shu until the reveal, and when he does, it's just as a referee for a match.
• Raven Hair, Ivory Skin: Like Daigo, he has black hair and pale skin.

Quon Kimidori (Limon)

• But Now I Must Go: Downplayed. He used to be a member of the Sword Flames dojo, but left to go on a training journey. In episode 43, he decides to return to the dojo for good.

  • Surname change: Kimidori —> Limon in the English dub.
  • His bey: Quad Quetzalcoatl —> Quill Quetziko.
• Cool Board: He's an avid skater, and he incorporates his boarding skills into his special move, Bound Launch.
• Feathered Serpent: His beyblade, Quill Quetziko, is based off the Mesoamerican deity, Quetzalcoatl.
• The Leader: Of Ice Blaze.
• Lightning Bruiser: Much like Ukyo's Unicrest, Quon's Quetziko is also a Defense-type that is quite agile and utilizes Quon's skateboarding skills in battle. Its defenses are so strong that it's able to give even Xander's Xcalius a run for its money.
• Meaningful Name: His surname literally means 'yellow-green' in Japanese, representing his aura color. Likewise, his dub surname is a combination of the Spanish words for 'lemon' and 'lime'.
• 'The Reason You Suck' Speech: He gives a small one to the Beigoma Academy Bey Club after witnessing their poor teamwork following their battle, and questions how a team with no trust managed to beat a team with it.
• What Does She See in Him?: Non-romantic example. He doesn't understand why Xander and Shu see potential in Valt, especially during their 1st battle. This changes after their rematch in episode 43.

Gou Chagake (Gabe Brunai)

• Bare Your Midriff: Much like Xander, his usual attire consists of a black and orange vest that exposes his midriff.
• Counter Attack: Gabe's Gaianon's special moves are able to counter-attack the opponent, but Gaianon's shifting weight can sometimes work against him.
• Death-or-Glory Attack: Some of his attacks can accidentally cause his Bey to Burst, something he's been training to overcome.
• Dub Name Change:
  • Gou Chagake —> Gabe Brunai in the English dub
  • His bey as well: Gigant Gaia —> Giga Gaianon
• Jack-of-All-Stats: His Giga Gaianon is a Balance type that focuses on both Attack and Defense, and because the bey's center of gravity leans more to one side due to the Bey's Quarter disc, Gaianon can attack while defending using its erratic movements. It's also pretty fast, able to keep up with speedy Attack types such as Doomscizor and Odax, and has more stamina than them as well.
• The Leader: Of Rideout. Just like Valt, he's the leader of a group where a Supreme Four member isn't the leader.
• Morality Pet: For Lui. He's the only character whom Lui shows any genuine respect for.
• Nice Guy: He's respectful to his rivals, and treats Lui as a close friend, regardless of the way the latter treats him.
• Signature Move: His Special Moves are:
  • Swing Launch: Gaianon swings back into the center of the stadium when being attacked to prevent the opposing Bey from taking the center.
  • Swing Counter: Gaianon counters the attack power of its opponent and returns it at full force with unpredictable, shaky movements.

Lui Shirasagijo (Shirosagi)

• The Ace: He's the strongest Supreme Four member and has won five consecutive National Bey Tournaments. In season 2, he is the 2nd best blader in the world rankings and thus part of the 'Big 5'.
• A Lighter Shade of Black: Lui's battle against Red Eye has him as this.
• Anti-Villain: Lui is this at worst. He's an antagonistic Jerkass, but he has as much of a right to win the tournaments as anyone else, and never takes anything further past Beyblade matches.
• Beware My Stinger Tail: Luinor's avatar has a speared tail, which it uses to attack opponents with.
• Big Ol' Eyebrows: He's got the thickest brows of all of the characters.
• Blood Knight: Lui’s only interested in strength and bladers who can rise to his level.
• Brutal Honesty: Lui doesn't sugarcoat things, especially if you're an opponent who doesn't live up to his stringent standards.
• The Bus Came Back: He returns in Turbo #4 with a new bey, Brutal Luinor. This is also the first time he's introduced early in a season, as opposed to usually appearing midway.
• Character Development: In the past Lui would flatly refuse to battle any opponents he viewed as unworthy. In Turbo, he agrees to battle Aiger right after meeting him (of course, he still curbstomps him).
• Critical Status Buff: The closer Nightmare Luinor is to Bursting, the stronger its Metal Dragon Crush Attack becomes. At it's strongest, the technique is capable of Bursting Drain Fafnir.
• Curbstomp Battle: Dishes these out in nearly every battle he has been in. The only people he has not managed to completely dominate over are Shu, Valt, and Free. However, Lui still triumphed over them in the end.
• Defeating the Undefeatable: In season 2, he becomes the first to defeat Red Eye and later defeats Free in a practice battle (after many draws). Lui ends up on the receiving end during his rematches with both.
• Dub Name Change: Surname change: Shirasagijo —> Shirosagi in the English dub.
  • Also his bey, Longinus —> Luinor.
• Flaming Hair: It usually stands still, but moves whenever Lui is in Blood Knight mode.
• Graceful Loser: Downplayed. When Lui lost to Free in the semifinals, he was certainly upset, but didn't dispute the result and simply swore to beat him in the finals. Upon losing to Shu in the finals, Lui sees potential to grow stronger from this and simply laughs in anticipation.
• Honor Before Reason: After he defeats Valt in the season 1 finale (after a crack in the beystadium causes Valtryek to self-destruct), he (initially) demands a do-over, stating that he will not let a freak accident decide his victory.
  • This pops up again in episode 15 of Turbo, as he refused to continue his battle against Aiger after the latter strains his arm, claiming that he doesn't want to take down an injured foe. Ironically, he has injured Shu a couple of times before in the first season, so this is a huge contrast from his earlier characterization due to Character Development.
• Jerkass: He belittles anyone who isn't a strong blader, doesn't like being cheered on, and scoffs at the concept of acknowledging strength and praising others when they win. Not even Gabe is spared from his bad attitude.
• The Lancer: He’s not the leader of Rideout, but he doesn’t get along with any others except Gabe, and is quick to call them weaklings whenever they lose.
• Laser-Guided Karma: See Wrecked Weapon below.
• Lightning Bruiser: His Lost Luinor is incredibly fast and can match even Valt's Ultra Flash Launch while also being one of the strongest Attack Types, if not the strongest. Defense wise, it has shrugged off attacks from Valtyrek, Kerbeus, and 4 other beys at once.
• Light Is Not Good: He's heavily associated with white and blue, and his surname, Shirosagi, contains the Japanese prefix for 'white'. However, he's one of the more unpleasant Bladers in the series.
• Meaningful Name: His surname contains the Japanese prefix, 'shiro-', meaning 'white'. However, 'Shiro' can also mean, 'castle', a reference to how Lui is the undefeated king of Beyblade.
• Names to Run Away from Really Fast: The White Tyrant.
• Our Dragons Are Different: His beyblade represents a white Western dragon with a Longinus spear head tail.
• Pet the Dog: He at least has some level of respect for Gabe, but even then he still treats him like he does everyone else. He also does gain some respect for Valt at the end of season 1.
• Purple Is Powerful: He has purple eyes, and his bey, aura, and outfit have purple accents as of Turbo. Blading wise, he's a member of the Supreme Four, the four strongest bladers in Japan, and the Big 5, the five strongest bladers on the planet.

• The Reveal: Lost Luinor is a reverse rotation bey that is mostly made of metal, which means Lui can Burst anyone in a single blow.

  • Red Eye had curb stomped everyone who had faced him before, including fellow Big Five member Xander, but ends up curbed stomped by Lui
  • Valt had defeated Numbers 5 through 3 of the Big Five, used every attack in his arsenal, and even brought back the Sprint Boost for their battle, but ends up curbed stomped by Lui

• Missing Mom: Averted. Most of the main protagonists either have no parents on-screen or only have their fathers, (or in Xander's case, his grandfather). Here, she's one of the first Beyblade protagonists' mothers to appear in the anime.
• Supreme Chef: She owns a bakery, and her Beyblade bread is very popular among the main cast.

Souta (Ryota) Kurogami

• Big Brother Worship: He idolizes Daigo, calling him the best big brother ever.
• Dub Name Change: Souta —> Ryota in the English dub.
• Ill Boy: He spends most of the series in the hospital recovering from an unnamed condition, but fortunately it's not serious. He's finally discharged in episode 37.

Hoji Konda

• Blow You Away: His Horusood's special move, Horusood Field, acts as this.
• Friendly Rival: Arguably the only rival outside of Shu and Orochi to act this way during the District Tournament.
• Friend to All Children: Based on the fact that he has several siblings, it's no shock he treats Nika and Toko well.
• Indentured Servitude: His father works for the company owned by Wakiya's father. The latter asked if his dad had any children who were Wakiya's age, which is how Hoji and Wakiya met.
• Massive Numbered Siblings: He has 4 younger siblings (3 brothers and a sister.)
• Morality Pet: For Wakiya. He's one of the few characters whom Wakiya openly shows kindness to.
• Nice Guy: Hoji is friendly, caring, responsible, and generally helpful to everyone. Almost makes you question why he and Wakiya are best friends.
• Noble Bird of Prey: His beyblade, Hyper Horusood represents the falcon-headed Egyptian god, Horus.
• Only Friend: Heavily implied to be this to Wakiya, before Sasaki and Shindo came along.
• Sixth Ranger: To the Beyblade Club, unofficially. He trains as their sixth member while getting ready for the National Tournament, and is supportive of the team while acting as the mediator between the rest of the Bey Club and Wakiya's arrogance.
• Stone Wall: His Horusood is a stamina type, which, despite the type disadvantage, has given even Attack types trouble due to its Special Move, Horusood Field, which surrounds the Bey with a whirlwind that only the strongest beys can break through. Outside of that, however, Horusood has weak attack power, especially once out of the stadium's center, and suffers The Worf Barrage after the tournament because of this.

• All There in the Manual: Like Chiharu, he's never referred to by his first name.
• Cool Old Guy: He's considerably older than most of the characters, but treats all of his students well.
• Non-Giving-Up School Guy: He's usually around to remind his students (especially Valt) to get to their classes.

• Not So Different: Compare his story to Valt's. The two are rookies at Beyblade, have a fun-loving personality, and admire at least one member of the Supreme Four (Shu for Valt and Zac for Akira, respectively). They occasionally get on said Four member's nerves, although the latter respect them as friends and rivals. And both Valt and Akira rose from nobodies to Darkhorses during battles in the National Tournament. The sole difference between the two is that Valt's Bey is an Attack Type while Akira's is a Defense type, and while Valt is a celebrity in his school, Akira is a celebrity as a pop star. That and Akira's not the main protagonist.
• The Rival: To Zac when he feels his spot as the #1 pop star in the world is being threatened. Fortunately, Zac comes to respect him in the end.
• Red Eyes, Take Warning: Averted; he has red eyes like Shu and Xander, but is not evil in any way.
• Signature Move: His special move is Perfect Circle where Anubion covers itself with a golden yellow aura, and then uses its near-perfect stability to knock the opposing Bey away.

Jin Aizawa

• Brought to You by the Letter 'S': He has a yellow 'J' on his hoodie.
• No Sense of Personal Space: Within seconds of his introduction, he bumps into Valt, attempts to bump into Shu, and gets touchy-feely with Rantaro, claiming that he's found his 'friend'.
• The Quiet One: He often speaks in a hushed tone, save for a couple of moments.
• Red Herring: He was made out to be someone who uses underhanded tactics in battle, but in the end he turns out to be a pretty decent guy, if a little weird.
• Sleepyhead: Tends to fall asleep at inopportune times, and walks and acts as if he's constantly tired. It's possible that he might have narcolepsy.
• Stone Wall: One of the best examples in this series. Thanks to the Cycle tip's wings, his Jormuntor can gather friction and energy from the stadium to boost its stamina while maintaining its balance, making it almost impossible to knock over. His Signature Move, Zombie Launch attacks the opponent with that boost of stamina. Its sole weakness is that it is not strong offensively, but functionally, it works the best out of the first season's Stamina types sans Zac's Zeutron.
• Verbal Tic: Downplayed, but he often mentions that he has 323 'guardian spirits'.

Naoki Minamo

• Character Tic: Tugging up his collar or adjusting his glasses.
• For Science!: He loves gathering data and conducting experiments. It's more or less his Catchphrase.
• Friendless Background: The end of episode 42 reveals that he had trouble making friends due to his peers finding his obsession with science weird, mostly because they couldn't understand him.
• Jack-of-All-Stats: His Nepstrius is a Balance type that can switch between 2 modes (Stamina and Attack), thanks to its Trans tip.
• Manipulative Bastard: He nearly got Valt disqualified from the Solo Tournament, attempted to sabotage Shu, and then tricked Valt into believing that Jin Aizawa was the cuplrit. He seems to get better, though.
• Megane: He wears special glasses that allow him to analyze an opponent's battle data. Often overlaps with Scary Shiny Glasses.

• Combat Pragmatist: While not a dirty fighter by any means, Kit is certainly a pragmatic one. To wit:
  • He helps Aiger develop strategies against Hearts so he can study and understand every aspect about Cho-Z Achilles while never bringing out his own Beyblade, Air Knight, leaving Aiger in the dark about his abilities.
  • Knowing about Cho-Z Achilles' power and Cho-Z Awakening System, Kit doesn't even try for a power struggle in his first battle with Aiger, instead actively avoiding one. This nets Kit the victory despite the vast power difference.
  • During his Title Match with Valt, unable to avoid a power struggle in the final round, Kit aims his strongest attack at Valkyrie's Cho-Z Wings to try and deativate the Cho-Z Awakening System. While Kit is too weak to do so, Phi later proves that this is indeed the best strategy against a Cho-Z Beyblade.
• Mr. Exposition: He explains a lot about BC Sol and the opponents' beys to Valt and Rantaro, being the one with the tablet in Evolution.
• Platonic Life-Partners: He's best friends with Honey.
• Reality Ensues: Kit was able to win his first battle with Aiger by keeping him in the dark about Air Knight's abilities, preventing the latter from making a successful counter strategy. In their rematch, now that Aiger had full knowledge of what Air Knight can do, he could successfully counter attack.
• Signature Move: Air Knight has four:
  • Air Shoot: Air Knight uses its Upper Force to create a barrier of wind, capable of pushing other Beyblades away. However, this technique cannot damage opponents.
  • Knight Flyer: Air Knight uses its Upper Force to rise higher in the air than most other Beyblades after an impact or jumping a rail and slow its descent, allowing it to win Ring-Out Finishes in situations that normally end in a Ring-Out Finish draw.
  • Knight Mega Blow: A stronger variant of Air Shoot where the wind barrier carries the opponent's Beyblade and continuously sends them into a wall.
  • Unnamed Attack: After a Knight Flyer, Air Knight dives down and smashes against the opponent. Notably the only special move Air Knight has that requires Layer to Layer contact.
• Took a Level in Badass: In Turbo he manages to defeat Aiger in a battle even with the latter successfully activating Cho-Z Achilles' awakening system.
• Token Mini-Moe: He essentially takes up Toko and Nika's roles in Evolution.
• Weak, but Skilled: In a series where even Defense and Stamina Type users will charge in to attack, Kit does everything he can to avoid attacks, instead capitalizing on Air Knight's greatest strengths, its Stamina and ability to avoid the opponent with its strong Upper Force. Most tellingly, his battle with Aiger ends without a single Burst Finish and his only power clashes end with his loss.

Zoro (Raul)

• Cool Old Guy: He's got quite a bit of energy for an old man, and is a pretty affable guy to be around.
• Dub Name Change: Zoro —> Raul in the English dub.
• Eye Scream: When he returns in Turbo, he has a cybernetic in place of his left eye, though no explanation as to how or why he got it is given.
• Gadgeteer Genius: He's a Bey trainer, someone who fixes broken Beys; and is responsible for upgrading Victory Valtryek into Genesis Valtryek. He eventually replaces Trad as the Bey trainer for BC Sol later on.
• The Mentor: He acts as one for Valt in order to help him master his evolved Valtryek's new abilities. Also borders on Trickster Mentor, sometimes.
• Nice Guy: If his willingness to repair broken beys is any indication. He's also much friendlier and more laidback than Trad.

Sisco Karlisle (Silas Karlisle)

• The Ace: Once Free leaves BC Sol, Silas becomes one of the strongest bladers on the Team, capable of putting up a fight against Big 5 member Xander.
• Anti-Hero: Despite him being one of the good guys, he has no problem taking pleasure in crushing people's beys and rubbing his victories in their faces.
• Bare Your Midriff: Like Xander and Gabe, he wears a crop top that exposes his midriff.
• Blood Knight: Silas loves to battle and doesn't care about the fundamentals. He's a strong blader who only wants to battle other strong bladers such as Free, even if he bites off more than he can chew.
• But for Me, It Was Tuesday: Upon meeting each other again, Ghasem is angry that Silas forgot about him, to which Silas remarks that he's faced so many bladers that he can't be bothered to remember ones that don't stand out. Ironic, given how vibrant Ghasem's appearance is.
• Character Development: See Took a Level in Kindness below.
• Character Tic: Getting the cricks out of his neck in order to intimidate his opponents. However, he stops doing this as the season goes on.
• The Comically Serious: He quite serious for the most part, but he's had a few amusing moments.
• Dub Name Change: Sisco —> Silas in the English dub.
  • Also, his Bey Kreis Satan —> Kinetic Satomb in the dub.
• Everyone Has Standards: Silas may be an arrogant jerk, but even he can't stand Wakiya's brattiness.
• The Gadfly: Silas loves provoking people. In battle, it also serves to mentally weaken his opponents, evidenced by Valt in episode 5 and his battle with Daigo’s teammate in episode 13.
• Jerkass: Silas can be quite condescending, especially to bladers who don't match his level. He does eventually mellow out into a Jerk with a Heart of Gold, though.
• Luminescent Blush: Happens a few times in season 2, notably when Nika asks for his autograph upon meeting him.
• Mighty Glacier: His Beyblade, Kinetic Satomb, is able to deflect attacks with its rollers and its Performance Tip gives it stability and bursts of speed needed for his signature moves, 'Roller Drift', 'Roller Defense', and 'Cyclone Loop'. However, it also has poor stamina and loses strength in drawn out battles.
• Not So Above It All: He's joined in on cheering for his friends a couple of times. He admits to having fun during his battle with Joshua.
• The South Paw: He uses a left-handed launch.
• Took a Level in Badass: Silas goes from being able to put up a fight against the Fifth best Blader in the world (Xander), to being able to defeat the Third best (Joshua), to curb stomping the Fifth, Fourth and Third best by the end of the series. It's only his losses against Lui and Free that prevent him from moving on to the finals.
• Took a Level in Kindness: Much like Wakiya, Silas started off as an arrogant jerk who cared only about facing strong opponents, but eventually became a devoted team player to BC Sol.
• Unknown Rival: While Free knows about Silas' determination to beat him, he really doesn't care, which only further inspires Silas to beat him. By the time of the final match against the Raging Bulls, Silas trained as hard as he could to counter Free's Drain Spin and managed to catch him by surprise, only to lose because of Fafnir's other abilities. For the final tiebreaker match, he took Valt's frame and expected to fight Free until Joshua wanted another chance to prove himself.
• Victory Is Boring: He leaves BC Sol because his only goal on the team was to eventually defeat Free, but Free's decision to join the Raging Bulls leads him to quit. Afterwards, he joins a bunch of teams, but chooses to go back to battling normal people in Spain after finding them weak, only to find that no one can give him a challenge. He eventually comes back, but only so that he can make BC Sol his team.

Free de la Hoya

• The Ace: He is the #1 ranked blader in the world. Enough said.
• Brutal Honesty: Free makes his opinion of something or someone perfectly clear, without sugarcoating.
• The Bus Came Back: Returns in Turbo #25 with a new Beyblade, Geist Fafnir.
• Character Development: During Evolution, Free rarely interacted with his teammates, instead choosing to train alone. As of Turbo, he not only seems more emotive, but is also actively helping Valt master his new Cho-Z upgrade after Wonder Valtryek was destroyed during his battle with Aiger in Turbo #28.
• The Comically Serious: He talks as if he's perpetually bored, but it makes him one of the funnier characters.
• Cruel to Be Kind: He leaves BC Sol high and dry in episode 10, causing the team to go on a horrible losing streak. However, he only did it because the team was too dependent on him, and it was evident that he actually didn't want to leave. In episode 24, Kris even states that Free thought Valt had the potential to turn the club around.
• Curb Stomp Cushion: While he loses to Phi, Free was still able to completely defeat Dead Armor Press, a technique whose predecessor destroyed several other Beyblades.
• Deadpan Snarker: Most of his dialogue (especially the dub) is full of one-liners.
  Free:Something.
• Defeating the Undefeatable: Is on the receiving end against Lui in a practice match. Free returns the favor and then some in the championship semifinals.
• Dull Eyes of Unhappiness: Due to his incredible strength, Free has yet to genuinely enjoy a battle. They disappear when up against opponents strong enough to challenge him.
• Game-Breaking Injury: Suffers one in his semi-final fight with Valt, due to overexerting himself.
• The Gloves Come Off: When he becomes completely serious, Free develops Super Strength, Tainted Veins, Voice of the Legion, and Super Natural Gold Eyes. Rolls over into Deadly Upgrade, as his arm cannot handle repeated launches in this state.
• Graceful Loser: He takes his loss against Lui well, but it's clear he's bitter about it and begins training seriously once again.
• The Leader: Before he left the team, Free was in charge of all the bladers of BC Sol in battle, even ignoring the instructions of Trad and Kris at times. He decides who goes into battle, and his analysis of his team and the opposing team allows him to stay calm and give advice to his fellow teammates. The downside is that at times, the team can sometimes overdepend on him, which contributes to him leaving BC Sol.
• Muscles Are Meaningless: He appears to be rather wiry, yet is the only character capable of surpassing his physical limits, to the point that he can lift a boulder (albeit with great difficulty, and only for a brief amount of time).
• No Social Skills: Free has a bad habit of unintentionally misinterpreting people's words at times, much to Rantaro's dismay.
• Non-Gameplay Elimination: During his battle against Valt in the Finals, Free was dominating the battle, with Valt struggling to keep up. However, Free's arm gave out, forcing him to forfeit.
• Lightning Bruiser: If someone manages to avoid or nullify Drain Fafnir's abilities, Free uses his bey's natural speed to cause a Burst Finish, and his Bey can counterattack and tank damage at the same time. Once Free gets serious, Drain Fafnir spins so fast that its incredible defenses grow even stronger, to the point where not even other Left Spin opponents can budge it, and Fafnir's Nothing Break creates high speed movements and attacks faster than most Attack Types.
• Logical Weakness: Free both has some weaknesses and acts as a weakness to others.
  • Drain Fafnir cannot use Drain Spin against Beyblades that have free-spinning components in their Layers or against other Left Spin Beyblades. However, Free is very familiar with the former and knows how to bypass them, and Drain Fafnir's rubber parts function identically to powerful points of attack against other Left Spin opponents.
  • If the opponent is spinning slower than Fafnir, then its rubber will give them spin instead. Geist Fafnir rectifies this weakness by having its rubber retract at high spin speeds, preventing it from giving spin away.
  • If the opponent tries an aerial attack, Geist Fafnir's Absorb tip depresses, absorbing the impact and allowing it to perform its strongest technique, Absorb Break. This includes attacks such as Phi's Dead Armor Press
• Odd Friendship: Before he leaves BC Sol, he starts to appreciate Valt and his passion, even being excited when they manage to tie. Also, his new friendship with Joshua Burns; Joshua is an overly dramatic actor, Free is an apathetic (for the most part) blader that doesn't usually show much emotion.
• Someone to Remember Him By: Free allows Valt to use his special stadium in the forest after he leaves BC Sol as part of their deal.
• Signature Move:
  • For Drain Fafnir
    • Drain Spin: Stealing spin from a faster, clockwise-rotating opponent.
    • Nothing Break: Free uses a full power launch to create enough Downforce that Drain Fafnir's Nothing Tip is pushed down to the base, granting sudden high speed movements and powerful attacks.
  • For Geist Fafnir
    • Geist Spin: Stealing spin from a faster, Right Rotation opponent. Identical to Drain Spin.
    • Geist Counter: Geist Fafnir's Proof Frame makes contact with the stadium, preventing a Knock-Out and allowing it to counter attack
    • Geist Claw: An attack when Geist Fafnir is spinning at high speed
    • Absorb Break: Either using its own spin power or the force of an opponent's aerial attack, Geist Fafnir's Absorb Driver is pushed down. This locks its free-spinning plate in place and retracts the sharp tip, leaving a wide flat tip behind, granting sudden high speed movement and powerful attacks.
• Stone Wall: His Beyblade Drain Fafnir can drain spin away from Right-spinning opponents (in other words, every blader in the world except for a few), making it almost impossible to defeat.
• Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Him defeating Shu was what led the latter to become Red Eye.
• Used to Be a Sweet Kid: As shown in one of Kris' flashbacks, Free was more prone to smiling as a child.
• Willfully Weak: Due to Free's incredible strength, he holds back heavily in most of his matches. He still wins anyway. This lack of seriousness allows Lui to defeat Free in a practice match.
• Worthy Opponent: It takes some time, but he eventually comes to view Valt as a strong Blader, and later tasks him with returning BC Sol to its former glory.
• Victory Is Boring: This trope has most likely contributed to Free's apathetic nature; he's the current World Champion and no one except Worthy Rival Lui has been seen to beat him on screen.
• Wrecked Weapon: His Geist Fafnir gets destroyed by Phi's Dead Phoenix in Turbo #43.

Cuza Ackermann

• Dub Name Change: His bey, from Alter Chronos —> Alter Cognite.
• Facial Markings: He has three light blue triangle markings on his face.
• Friend to All Living Things: He owns a pet cockatoo named Carl, and in episode 16 he manages to stop a snake that had frightened Valt and his gang.
• Friendly Rivalry: He gets along well with Valt, but during their battle Cuza treats him as an enemy. Away from the stadium, however, they regain their friendship.
• Genki Guy: He has just as much energy as Valt does, if not more.
• Heroic BSoD: Cuza begins to lose confidence in himself after being subjected to curb stomp after curb stomp in the International Blader's Cup, unable to gain even a single win until his battle with Kurt.
• Hidden Depths: He managed to sketch an impressive profile picture of Raul, showing some artistic skill.
• Mood-Swinger: He could be upset and crying one minute, then reveal it was all an act and be his usual happy self the next.
• Multi Form Balance: Alter Cognite has two modes:
  • Ultra Stamina Mode: By setting both the Layer and the Tip to their Stamina modes, Alter Cognite gains Stamina equal to a full-fledged Stamina Type Beyblade.
  • Ultra Attack Mode: By setting both the Layer and Tip to their Attack modes, Alter Cognite gains Attack power equal to a full-fledged Attack Type Beyblade.
• Nice Guy: Develops a strong friendship with Valt and later leaves Top Wand to join BC Sol so they can be teammates.
• O.O.C. Is Serious Business: When he hears that Clio is around, he suddenly becomes nervous and terrified. He grows out of it over time, though.
• Overshadowed by Awesome: Cuza is genuinely a powerful blader, as his acceptance into the International Blader's Cup cements this. However, compared to the upper-echelons of the Beyblade world, Cuza struggles to keep up.
• Pint-Sized Powerhouse: He's just as short as Valt, but is a skilled blader. Lampshaded in his battle with Gray Eye:
  Cuza: *to Gray Eye* Sure, we may be smaller than you, but trust me, we're also stronger!
• Scarf Of Asskicking: He wears a white scarf and is a decently strong blader, too.
• Uncatty Resemblance: His hairstyle bears a striking resemblance to his bey's Energy Layer.
• Victory by Endurance: While Cuza can use his Bey to reach the top of the stadium, he can also choose to stay there and wait until the opponent runs out of stamina while in Cognite's Ultra Stamina Mode. This works in his rematch with Valt in round one, but in round two, the latter uses a combination of Winged Launch and Spring Attack to shake the stadium walls and force Cuza to use Tightrope Dive to prevent a Ring-out.
• Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: The only thing he's afraid of is Clio, and it's later revealed that when the two were little, one of Clio's magic tricks traumatized Cuza. Fortunately, he learns to overcome his fear, courtesy of Valt.

Kristina 'Kris' Kuroda

• Alliterative Name: Kristina Kuroda in the dub.
• Cool Big Sis: She has a close friendship with Free and ultimately convinces him to forfeit his match with Valt after he injures himself.
• Crippling Overspecialization: Kris' dependence (especially in the early episodes) on Free nearly didn't end well, and caused a potential breakdown in episode 11 after Free left BC Sol for the Raging Bulls in episode 10. In addition, it takes her a good while before she stops depending on one group of bladers.
• Cry Cute: Kris cries in episode 29 after Valt, Rantaro and Cuza lose to Ren Wu. She also sheds happy tears when BC Sol wins the World League.
• Cute Sports Club Manager: She's the manager of BC Sol, the Spain representative team of the World Beyblade Tournament.
• Improbable Age: While less improbable than 11-year-old Wakiya running his own Bey Club, Kris is (according to Morita) only 16 years old and is running her own Bey Club. She later becomes the director of the WBBA in Turbo at 18 years old.
• Mixed Ancestry: According to the official TV Tokyo page, Kris is half-Japanese, half-Spaniard.
• Multi-Ethnic Name: English first name, Japanese last name.

Sasha Guten (Shasa Guten)

• Action Girl: Even though she's on the second team, she's still a strong blader, even managing to defeat Valt at one point.
• Anger Born of Worry: She can be quite temperamental with her teammates if they do something to hurt themselves or each other, but it just goes to show how much she cares about them.
• Cool Big Sis: She's loving and kind towards her little sister Honey, and this attitude is extended to the other members of BC Sol as well.
• Deadpan Snarker: She does have a wise-cracking side, though it's usually directed at Valt's absentmindedness or Rickson's crypticness.
• Dub Name Change: From Sasha to Shasa in the dub.
• The Heart: Easily the kindest member of BC Sol, and often tries to quell Stan's anger towards Valt.
• Nice Girl: She's very sweet and friendly, and always puts the safety and wellbeing of her teammates before anything else.
• Only Sane Woman: Shasa is the most well-rounded and sane member of BC Sol. When a misunderstanding causes everyone to believe that Valt is transferring to AS Gallus, while at first angry, Shasa is the only one besides Rantaro who knows the truth, and she nominates Valt to take her place on the team for the next upcoming tournament after she battles him to prove how much he cares about BC Sol.
• True Blue Femininity: She has blue hair, and her usual attire is comprised of various shades of blue.
• What the Hell, Hero?: She calls out Free for leaving the team and then rejoining BC Sol after losing with the Raging Bulls at the start of episode 38.

Hickson Clay (Rickson Clay)

• Dub Name Change: Hickson —> Rickson in the dub.
• 'Well Done, Son!' Guy: During the BC Sol vs SB Rios team match, he battles to prove to his father that he is strong.
• Vocal Dissonance: He has a rather deep, raspy voice in the dub.

Trad Vasquez

• Gadgeteer Genius: He sometimes develops different Beyblade tools in his spare time. One that we see on screen is the Knuckle Grip that Rantaro 'borrowed', but Trad allowed him to keep it as long as he eventually masters it.
• Grumpy Bear: He's almost perpetually in a bad mood, and rather cynical and uptight.
• Number Two: He mostly works as Kris' additional support, backup, and secretary.
• Reasonable Authority Figure: He displays a tough, no-nonsense attitude towards the bladers of BC Sol, but it's only because he expects the very best from all of them.
• Put on a Bus: Leaves for America after the Red Eye arc because he feels his time with BC Sol is up.
• Took a Level in Kindness: Starts off grumpy and cynical towards Kris and the other BC Sol Bladers, but by the time of the World League he comes to view Valt and the others as strong Bladers, and admits to Kris that she was able to see potential in them when he could not.

Joshua Boon (Joshua Burns)

• The Ace: He's the third strongest blader in the world, and Blast Jinnius is one of the strongest Beys out there.
• Arrogant Kung-Fu Guy: While powerful and generally confident, when the confidence breaks, he can be incredibly determined to prove he's the strongest.
• Blow You Away: Blast Jinnius is a wind elemental Bey and Joshua's special moves revolve around wind powers.
• Compressed Hair: When going incognito, he somehow manages to fit all that hair under a baseball cap.
• Curb-Stomp Battle: Dishes them out commonly to Rantaro, Silas, Wakiya, Cuza, and Valt. Nearly suffering defeat at the hands of Daigo in the semi-finals of the World Beyblade League put a stop to that, though.
• Dub Name Change: His last name, from Boon —> Burns.
• Doomed Contrarian: Non-fatal example, but The Raging Bulls lose the Championship because of him. Theodore ordered him to have Free participate in the tie breaker match because he (Joshua) just lost to Valt. Joshua refuses despite Free's protests and ends up narrowly losing the match.
• Fatal Flaw: While generally nice, his Pride often gets the better of him, leading him to believe that he and Jinnius are unstoppable. The signs begin to show after he almost loses to Daigo during the semi-finals, which culminates in a breakdown after Valt manages to counter his Cyclone Counter. Things only get worse after the final battle with Silas.
• Heroic BSoD: Losing twice in the Team Championships, even after trying to save face severely damaged his confidence. He mostly returns to normal after taking a point off of Free.
• Improbable Hairstyle: He styles his hair into an exaggerated pompadour. Like Ranjiro, it's a mystery where he gets strong enough hair gel to do so.
• Logical Weakness: While Jinnius has the speed, attack, and stamina, it's still a heavy defense-type that can be knocked out of the ring with enough force depending on the angle, or if the opposing Bey attacks before Cyclone Wall activates. As for Cyclone Counter, if the opponent can shift their Bey below the Layer's drop, the Counter will be rendered ineffective and allows the opposing Bey to counter attack. Also, Joshua's special move requires the opposing Bey to be on the ground, so attacks from the air will render his bey's abilities useless.
• Man in White: Is frequently seen donning a white suit.
• Odd Friendship: He's a loud and overly dramatic actor; Free is a mostly apathetic blader.
• Slave to PR: He strongly believes in keeping the fans happy, and always puts on a show to entertain the crowd when he battles. Him trying to save face after losing to Valt costs the Raging Bulls the championship.
  Joshua: *speaking to Daigo* The thing about making my fans happy..when I make a promise, I pretty much bend over backwards to keep it.
• Signature Move: His Bey has two Special Moves:
  • Cyclone Wall uses wind pressure to create a wall around Jinnius that directs the opponent's Bey away from it after being attacked. If the Bey is still able to come into contact with Jinnius, then the air pressure can form a shield that attacks the Bey instead.
  • Cyclone Counter: Jinnius' layer smashes down onto the opponent to attack or counter a Bey when it attacks, causing a cyclone of force where the Bey crashes on the floor and bounces up, thereafter causing the opposing Bey to either receive a Ring-Out Finish from the wind or a Burst Finish.
  • Guard Twist: Jinnius' Guard Tip grips into the Tornado Ridge to speed up to both prevent a Ring-Out and counter attack the opponent.
• Suspiciously Similar Substitute: To Zac. They both appear in the early #20ish episodes, are celebrities of their own variety, with Joshua being a Hollywood actor to Zac's Japanese pop star, both belong to elite groups of the strongest bladers, and they spend their first episodes delivering curb-stomp battles to the main cast. What separates the two is that Joshua's Bey is a Defense type while Zac's is a Stamina type, and their hubris spreads a lot differently than expected.
• Villain Forgot to Level Grind: Joshua is genuinely strong, however it's clear he didn't get stronger before the Solo Championships, as he is defeated by Xander (who was two ranks below him) and curb stomped by Silas, despite their first battle being neck and neck.

Boa Alcacer (Boa Alacazaba)

• Barrier Warrior: Both of Balkesh's special moves involve conjuring a protective shield that can be used to attack opponents.
• Broken Pedestal: He strove to become as strong as Red Eye, but after seeing his idol get curb-stomped by Lui, he calls him pathetic.
• Cool Scars: Has one on the bridge of his nose, as of Evolution #27.
• Critical Status Buff: Arc Balkesh's Defense grows strongest when it's just about to Burst. Deconstructed in that if the opponent can break through that Defense, there is nothing else Boa can do.
• Determinator: The boy refuses to falter even through the most difficult of training. With motivation from Red Eye, he pushed past his physical limits to earn Ark Balkesh.
• Dub Name Change:
  • His surname. Alcacer —> Alcazaba in the dub.
  • Also His bey: Ark Bahamut —> Ark Balkesh
• Friend to All Children: In Evolution #37, he befriends a group of kids while in New York. They later prove instrumental in helping Valt snap Boa out of his funk.
• Heroic BSoD: He undergoes one in Evolution #47 after Valt defeats him, and he almost throws his bey away. Thankfully, Valt snaps him out of it.
• Meaningful Name: His surname, both in Japan and English, is derived from 'Alcazar', meaning 'castle' or 'fortress'; a nod to his Balkesh being a Defense-type. Similarly, his first name is Boa (like Boa Constrictor) and he hails from a secretive Blading facility called the Snake Pit.
• Overshadowed by Awesome: Boa is genuinely a powerful Blader, and his acceptance into the International Blader's Cup cements that. However, compared to the upper-echelons of the Beyblade world, Boa struggles to keep up.
• Signature Move: To compensate for its lack of attack, Ark Balkesh's special moves turns its defense into attack. There's his first special move, Final Guard, which links up with the layer after it's hit three times to create a red spherical shield to deflect attacks or cause a Ring-Out finish. If the opposing Bey is knocked in the air, it will crash down unto Balkesh's shield and most likely burst. Balkesh's second special move is Final Crash, where the shield forms, but Balkesh rides the slope of the stadium, using the momentum to crash into the opponent, making it useful for a Ring Out or Burst Finish.
• Stone Wall: Ark Balkesh is a defense-type, and it's sturdy and hard to knock over. However, it's not fast, and its burst potential only unlocks as the Burst layer reaches its limit.
• Tagalong Kid: To Red Eye. His goal is to get stronger while serving him and he plans to surpass him. Unlike Kenta from Metal Fight Beyblade, he is very strong from his debut, evident by his victory against Ren Wu.
• Took a Level in Kindness: When Valt stops him from throwing Balkesh away after their battle, Boa finally accepts his friendship and even warns him about Ashtem's true identity.

Alexander Gilten (Theodore Glass)

• Big Bad: While he's not an antagonist seeking to take over the world through Beyblade like Boris, Dr. Ziggurat and Nemesis, or Doji, he's the driving force behind Red Eye's actions, the founder of the Raging Bulls, and BC Sol's main competitor through the World Beyblade Organization.
• The Captain: Theodore is the head and founder of the Raging Bulls, America's representative team in the World Beyblade Tournament.
• The Corrupter: To Shu Kurenai, causing him to become Red Eye.
• Dub Name Change: Alexander Gilten —> Theodore Glass in the English dub, likely because his Japanese name is the same as Xander's real English name. His Snake Pit identity was also changed from Ashram —> Ashtem.
• Gone Horribly Right: Subverted. Shu is growing incredibly strong as he planned, and he doesn't care how much mayhem Shu's causing.
• Karma Houdini: The fact that he's the leader of the Snake Pit isn't brought up again after the Championships are finished and he suffers no consequences. Justified in that despite how harsh the Snake Pit's training is, no lives have been lost or endangered, there was no 'Take Over The World' plan, and by the looks of Boa there is no mental trauma from his training regimen.
• Multicolored Hair: In the form of brunet, blond, and white layers.
• Manipulative Bastard: Seems to be this, from getting Free to leave BC Sol for the Raging Bulls. Also see The Corrupter above.
• The Social Darwinist: He aims to create a team consisting of only the strongest bladers.
• You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: As Ashtem, he kicks any and all Bladers out of the Snake Pit the instant they fail.

Red Eye

• Always Someone Better: He's this to the main cast, who feel they can't catch up to him. In actuality, this is the reason he became Red Eye; after losing to Lui and Free, he wants to be stronger in order to finally defeat them.
• Battle in the Center of the Mind: He does this in order to prepare himself for his future battles with Lui, Free, and Valt as well as to gain enough strength to create and control Spryzen Requiem.
• Broken Ace: Losing to Lui and Free drove him to the point of abandoning his emotions for the sake of victory.
• Blood Knight: You thought Ghasem was battle crazy? Red Eye will target anyone who seems like a challenge. It's also because he wants stronger battles to eventually battle Lui and Free.
• Curb-Stomp Battle: He's defeated the majority of the bladers with the exception of Silas in a battle, and even defeated Daigo, Valt, and Cuza all at once.
• Dragon Slayer: Once it was revealed that Shu also lost to Free, Shu's desire for a new beyblade resulted in him fighting Luinor and Fafnir, who both happen to be Dragons, in his Battle in the Center of the Mind using Spryzen's axe hammer.
• Evil Former Friend: Turned against all of his friends for the sake of power. When Valt finally realizes his identity, Shu pushes him aside and tells him to get away.
• Invincible Villain: Until Lui finally battled and defeated him, he never lost to anyone.
• Irony: He destroyed Ghasem's bey, just as Spryzen was destroyed in episode 49 of season 1.
• Knight of Cerebus: Once Red Eye enters the picture, the story gets dark. VERY DARK.
• Lightning Bruiser: Legend Spryzen is basically Storm Spryzen Up to Eleven. The Merge Tip allows it to shift directions and target any Bey within vicinity or dodge attacks from multiple beys, use the increased rotation from the tip to attack hard and Burst beys without any difficulty, and effortlessly tank attacks from even the strongest of Attack types.
• Light Is Not Good: The spirit of Spryzen Requiem, unlike the previous Spryzens, is clad in white armor, yet its possession of Shu is anything but benevolent.
• Malevolent Masked Men: He wears a black mask and is the leader of the organization with the masked eyes, hence the name.
• Paper-Thin Disguise: He looks very similar to a certain white-haired protagonist who is close friends with Valt, has a similar beyblade and spirit, has similar Special Moves to said protagonist, and also has a similar passion for beyblade. Three guesses as to who his true identity is. Valt even asks him in their first encounter, and the only person to expose the truth was Lui.
• Promotion to Opening Titles: While he's in both versions of Evolution Burst, he replaces Silas as the opponent Valt battles in the second version.
• Red Eyes, Take Warning: Red Eye isn't a friendly person at all, and the red eyes from his mask only heighten his threat level in battle.
• Walking Spoiler: His identity and actions play a huge part in Evolution.

Norman Tarver/Gold Eye

• The Ace: He used to be the Snake Pit's top Blader before Shu came along. He more than proves it by curb stomping everyone he battles and it's telling that his only losses are against Valt (with Mid-Season Upgrade), Shu, and Kurtz.
• Creepy Shadowed Undereyes: He has dark bags under his eyes to go along with his pale skin.
• Dub Name Change: His bey's name is changed from Twin Nemesis —> Noctemis.
• Lightning Bruiser: His Twin Noctemis is incredibly fast and powerful; its attacks, Upper Crash and Colossus Hammer, are rarely encountered and difficult to defend against; and it has enough Stamina to where dodging until the opponent is weakened is a perfectly viable strategy.
• Nothing Up My Sleeve: He whips his launcher out of his left sleeve when getting ready to battle.
• Number Two: As Gold Eye, Norman is the second-in-command to Theodore alongside his Co-Dragon Silver Eye.
• One Sided Rivalry: He wants to face off against Shu to prove who is the Snake Pit's strongest. Shu doesn't care.
• Secret Identity: His true identity isn't revealed until he enters the International Blader's Cup.
• Signature Move: He has two. The first is Colossus Hammer: In Colossus mode, Noctemis attacks the opponent with a crushing blow via its weight distribution from shifting the parts of the energy layer together. The second is Upper Crush, where Noctemis attacks the opponent with a move similar to an uppercut while in Upper mode.
• What Happened to the Mouse?: He disappears after his match with Shu and isn't seen for the finale.
• Wrecked Weapon: Shu/Red Eye destroys his Twin Noctemis during their match in episode 47.

Shadow Bladers

• Acrofatic: Gray Eye has a much stockier build than the others, but is still very agile.
• Affably Evil: Azure Eye is considered the friendliest of the Shadow Bladers, though it's downplayed in that they're not technically evil.
• Color-Coded Characters: Their auras match with those of the protagonists.
• Combat Clairvoyance: Black Eye has the ability of future sight, and up until his battle with Daigo, every one of his predictions had come true.
• Evil Counterpart: They all possess dark copies of the main cast's Beyblades.
• You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: Black Eye, Gray Eye, and Azure Eye get kicked out after losing to their respective counterparts. Violet Eye is also kicked out alongside Wakiya after losing a Battle Royale to Red Eye.

Carl

• Berserk Button: Don't mess with Cuza, not if you want an angry parrot clawing at your face.
• Loyal Animal Companion: Carl follows his owner everywhere.
• Parrot Pet Position: He often perches on Cuza's shoulder and sometimes on his head when he isn't flying.
• Talking Animal: He's a parrot (specifically a cockatoo), so it's expected.
• Team Pet: Of Top Wand and later BC Sol.

Ataru Okinaka

• Gadgeteer Genius: He's the Bey trainer for Sunbat United, and was responsible for upgrading Wakiya's Wild Wyvron into Tempest Wyvron.
• The Shut-In: According to Wakiya, he has a habit of cooping himself up in his lab to work, which results in him not being up to date on the latest Beyblade news.

Ange Lopez

• Good Parents: She's Kit's mother, but acts as one for Valt this season. She feeds the BC Sol team, gives them (and occasionally Trad or Kris) good advice, prefers if everyone calls her 'mom', and at one point she even talked to Chiharu about making Beyblade bread.

Honey Guten

• Big Sister Worship: She's very close to her big sister, Shasa.
• Fangirl: She's a HUGE one of Joshua, to the point where she cheers for Joshua instead of her teammate Free in Evolution #43, and argues with Silas when he's slated to take on Joshua in the International Blader's Cup.
• Meaningful Name: She's as sweet as you'd expect someone named Honey to be.
• Nice Girl: Much like her sister, Honey is very cheerful and friendly.
• Platonic Life-Partners: She's best friends with Kitt.
• Token Mini-Moe: Like Kitt, she takes up Toko and Nika's roles in season 2.

Ivan

• The Smart Guy: Out of all the members of BC Sol, he's the most knowledgable about Beyblade. That becomes a factor in his decision to leave BC Sol.
• Nice Guy: Remains friendly towards Valt and Rantaro, even as the two rise through the ranks.
• Obsolete Mentor: Realizing that his blading skills aren't enough to keep him on the team, he decides to become a Beyblade trainer instead, using his intelligence to teach others how to become better bladers.
• Put on a Bus: He leaves BC Sol in episode 11, but shows up a final time in episode 12 to wish the team good luck. He shows up again in episode 26 when advising members of the Royals.

Jango Matador (Django del Toro)

• The Casanova: Django's quite the flirt and often tries to work his magic on the ladies.
• The Bus Came Back: Returns in Evolution #27 as a member of Sunbat United.
• Demoted to Extra: Feared Valt, Rantaro, and later, Silas' joining of the team would demote him from the top team. After his loss against Silas, he leaves the team.
• Dub Name Change: Surname change: Matador —> del Toro. His first name is also spelled as Django in the dub.
• The Fighting Narcissist: It's downplayed, but he can be arrogant at times, and it's suggested that he came from a higher class family and hates being under a lower rank. That being said, he is a decent blader and has a special move similar to Valt's Rush Launch.
• Meaningful Name: He wears a jacket resembling that of a bullfighter's. His dub surname is Spanish for 'bull'.
• Not Good with Rejection: When he attempts to persuade Kris into letting him have Free's spot on the team and she rebuffs him, he goes into Color Failure.
• Put on a Bus: He leaves BC Sol in episode six. He'll find another team to regain his pride, and promises Stan that they'll meet again one day. He does just that when he and Stan meet each other again during the match between SB Rios and Sunbat United.

Stan Hamburg

• The Bus Came Back: He returns as a member of SB Rios in Evolution #27
• Goggles Do Nothing: He wears a pair of goggles propped up on his head, though he's never actually seen using them.
• Insufferable Genius: While he's a jerk, at times he can back it up, and wins in his battle with AS Gallus.
• Jerkass: Outside of Silas, he's the most aggressive member of BC Sol and is (initially) rather antagonistic towards Valt and Rantaro, though it's mostly because he blames Valt for making Jango leave, and thinks he isn't taking things seriously. Even when he has a point, he's rather self-centered and enjoys bullying (or at least trying to bully) Valt. At times, Shasa and Trad have had to ask him to relax.
• Out-of-Context Eavesdropping: When he sees Valt and Rantaro with Daigo's team, AS Gallus, he spreads a rumor to BC Sol that the former two are transferring teams. Had he just stuck around a few seconds longer, he would've heard them say that they were staying loyal to BC Sol.
• Put on a Bus: He leaves for Brazil in Evolution #20.
• Those Two Guys: He was often seen with Django until the latter left BC Sol.
• Took a Level in Jerkass: Yes, he manages to become nastier than he has earlier in the series.
  • To be fair, he wasn't that antagonizing in the first few episodes compared to Django, and was somewhat the more polite one of the two (albeit, a little cocky as well). As soon as his friend leaves, he becomes meaner with every episode until he joins SB Rios, where he Took a Level in Kindness in good sportsmanship.

Ghasem Madal

• Arch-Enemy: He wants revenge against Silas because he destroyed the Beyblade that he received from his father.
• Blood Knight: As a practitioner of Muay Thai, he loves showing his fighting instinct.
• Deceased Parents Are the Best: His father was also a Muay Thai fighter who unfortunately died from an injury during an important match. Before his death, he gave Ghasem a Bey and told him that he’ll rise to become strong as well.
• Diving Kick: Overlaps with Death from Above. While he himself kicks downwards with an axe kick, Maximus Garuda uses the upper force gathered in its layer. Once the Bey is in the air after receiving an attack, Garuda then strikes down with its performance tip.
• Glass Cannon: Unusually for a stamina type, Maximus Garuda has good stamina and attack partly due to the ability to gather upper force. While his power is comparable to Genesis Valtryek, once it's Death from Above attack fails or is deflected, Garuda's low center of gravity makes it susceptible to a Ring Out or Burst Finish. This weakness allowed Legend Spryzen to perform a One-Hit KO in an instant.
• Noble Bird of Prey: His bey, Maximus Garuda, represents the Avian bird god. And despite his aggression, he’s a noble person at heart.
• Tragic Keepsake: The Bey that was given to him by his late father. Sadly, it was destroyed by Silas in his first Beybattle.
• Wrecked Weapon: His beyblade is destroyed by Red Eye in episode 28.

Ruway Sun (Ren Wu Sun)

• The Ace: Alongside Xander, he's a member of the Big 5: the five strongest bladers on the planet, and is ranked fourth.
• Awesome by Analysis: He can accurately predict the path of the opponent's Beyblade by examining the launcher angle and the position of his opponent's eyes, no matter how complex the opponent's launch technique is.
• Braids of Action: He wears his hair in a very long side braid.
• Crippling Overspecialization: Ren Wu's entire strategy boils down to 'Predict the opponent's path, then intersect and weaken. If a Burst or Ring-Out is not achieved, activate Shelter Defense and win by Survivor Finish.' If anything doesn't match his predictions (i.e. Genesis Valtryek's ever increasing speed or Ark Balkesh's Reverse Rotation), then his effectiveness dwindles.
• Dub Name Change: Ruway —> Ren Wu in the English dub.
• Friendly Rivalry: With Xander. The two met at a martial arts tournament, but are on good terms with one another.
• Simple Staff: He often uses a wooden staff when practicing martial arts.
• Panthera Awesome: His bey, Shelter Regulus is associated with the lion Bey spirit, and is skilled in both Attack and Defense.
• Villain Forgot to Level Grind: Being defeated by Xander, who was ranked below him, and Joshua (who also didn't develop in strength) confirms this.
• What Does She See in Him?: Like Quon, he initially doesn't understand why Xander thinks so highly of Valt. After Valt defeats him in the semi-finals of the World League, he changes his opinion of him.
• Weak, but Skilled: Ren Wu's battles tend to be very drawn out as he chips away at the opponent's Stamina until they're weak enough for him to Burst or Knock-Out.
• The Worf Effect: After his loss against Valt in the World League, his win record is non-existent. First he's defeated by Boa to establish the boy's improvement and Ark Balkesh's power. Following his entry into the God Bladers Cup, he loses to Xander, Silas, Lui, Free, and Joshua, despite Xander and Silas ranking lower than him. He ends the tournament with a 0-5 win-loss streak.

Clio Delon

• Cute Little Fangs: As per his vampire shtick.
• Facial Markings: Has two red diamond-shaped markings near his left eye.
• Friendly Neighborhood Vampire: His actual vampiric status is debatable, but Clio is a kind-hearted person who supports his teammates in AS Gallus, to the point where he even encourages Daigo in the semi-finals against Joshua. Although he unintentionally creeps out Cuza at times.
• Leitmotif: He has pipe organ background music very reminiscent of vampires.
• Nice Guy: Creepiness aside, Clio is one of the friendlier characters introduced in Evolution
• Odd Friendship: Develops one with Daigo after joining AS Gallus.
• Power Parasite: Deep Caynox has the ability to drain its opponent's power to survive.
• Vegetarian Vampire: It's debatable whether or not he's really a vampire, but Clio enjoys drinking a lot of tomato juice.
• Voice of the Legion: His voice has an occasional reverb when he talks.
• What Happened to the Mouse?: He doesn't appear during Valt's final match with Shu in the Evolution season finale.

Kurtz Baratier (Kurt Baratier)

• Authority Equals Asskicking: He's a former World Champion as well as the leader of an Underground Beyblade Ring and he more than lives up to both reputations. After the Time Skip in Beyblade Burst Turbo, he faces off against Valt in the finals of the World Championship, without a Turbo upgrade.
• Beef Gate: The only people capable of defeating him are those who are already in the upper-echelons of the Beyblade World (Shu) or those who have the potential to reach that level (Valt). Everyone else is casually curb stomped, even high ranking Snake Pit member Norman.
• Cold Ham: Kurt keeps his battle persona tucked away under his intimidating nature, but once he gets excited in a battle, his personality takes a large step in hamminess.
• Crippling Overspecialization: Subverted. He can and will use every method of Attack possible in battle from simple angled launches, to rebounding off of walls, to even a Goomba Stomp.
• Critical Status Buff: When Boom Khalzar loses two clicks, its Attack power grows.
• Dub Name Change: His bey: Beat Kukulcan —> Boom Khalzar in the English dub.
• Feathered Serpent: Much like how Quon's Quetziko represents Quetzacoatl, the Mesoamerican snake deity; Kurt's Bey represents the Mayan snake deity, Kukulcan.
• Graceful Loser: He takes each of his losses very well. The first against Shu has him laughing at the excitement of the challenge and swearing to meet again in the finals. The second against Cuza has him smiling to himself and calmly accepting it. The third against Valt is to admit he had a lot of fun and urge Valt to win the whole tournament so they can battle again.
• Ironic Name: His first name means 'short' in German, but he is one of the tallest characters in the series.
• Jerkass: What does he do when Valt loses to him the first time? Try to stomp on Valtryek's Layer. He Took a Level in Kindness during their rematch out of respect for Valt's development.
• Lonely at the Top: He was the World's no.1 blader at some point, but gave up the title because he couldn't find any strong opponents to fight.
• Multi-Ethnic Name: His first name is German, while his last name is apparently French in origin.
• Red Eyes, Take Warning: He has red eyes and is a former world champion, so his prowess is to be respected.
• Shock and Awe: Boom Khalzar's special moves incorporate electricity in his attacks.
• Signature Move: Boom Khalzar has three: Skyscraper Boost, Thunder Attack and Bolt Attack.
• Spell My Name with an 'S': His name is spelled with a 'z' in Japan.
• Took a Level in Kindness: See above.
• Uncatty Resemblance: His wild green and yellow hair resembles his Bey avatar's plumage.

Aiga Akaba (Aiger Akabane)

• Alliterative Name: Aiger Akabane
• Big Eater: He managed to finish three bowls piled high with food by himself without breaking a sweat.
• Blood Knight: After his battle with Valt, Aiger goes on a journey to defeat as many opponents as possible, at one point racking up an 88 and then 100 winning streak. Becomes this even more so after his high resonance with Z Achilles begins to take him over.
• Brought to You by the Letter 'S': He has an upside-down 'A' on his jacket and one painted on his left cheek.
• But Now I Must Go: Witnessing the destruction of Geist Fafnir at the hands of Phi & Dead Phoenix inspires him to go on a training journey in order to further strengthen the bond between him and Cho-Z Achilles.
• Catchphrase: He frequently states that he'll 'blow everyone away'.
• Character Development: Started off as rather cocky and big-mouthed, and which was made worse by Phi's corruption. Fortunately, he is later freed of his darkness and has gotten himself back on the right path to becoming a true Blader, with him being much friendlier, altruistic, and willing to listen to others.
• Contrasting Sequel Main Character: Is this to Valt. To wit:
  • Valt started as naïve, didn't even know how to launch properly, and had to grow bit by bit in his adventure -> Aiger is shown as a prodigy on his first try.
  • Valt had to slowly figure out how to understand his Beyblade's parts and abilities -> Aiger immediately knows how to make full use of the Xtend Tip.
  • Valt started as more interested in having fun rather than winning -> Aiger started as more obssessed with winning rather than having fun.
  • Valt is blue -> Aiger is red.
  • Even their beys are direct contrasts: Valt uses an Attack Type -> Aiga uses a Balance Type
    • Wonder Valtryek has 3 blades -> Z Achilles has 4.

• Heroic BSoD: Gets one after being brought back to his senses after losing Z Achilles. Fortunately, he quickly snaps out of it.
• Hot-Blooded: He'll eagerly jump into a battle with anyone, no matter who it is.
• Humble Pie: Gets a HUGE slice of it after being purged of the dark power and having Z Achilles destroyed.
• Instant Expert: On Aiger's first attempt at Beyblade, he perfectly copies Valt's launch technique with no mishaps.
• Jack-of-All-Stats: Z Achilles is a Balance Type and is supposed to be this. However, Aiger uses it as if it were nothing but a pure Attack Type.
• Kid Hero: He replaces Valt as the new main protagonist for Turbo.
• Laser-Guided Karma: Him destroying Wonder Valtryek and refusing to believe Shu's explanation that he is hurting Achilles comes back to bite him HARD in Turbo #37.
• Logical Weakness: As with Cho-Z Valkyrie and Spriggan, Cho-Z Achilles' 'Cho-Z Awakening' gimmick can be nullified by pushing the Burst stopper wings back in. See Valt and Shu's sections above.

• My God, What Have I Done?: Only after Phi destroys Z Achilles and purges him of the dark power in Turbo #37 does Aiger finally realize what he's let himself turn into.
• New Transfer Student: Aiger transfers from his old town’s school to Beigoma, but only decides on staying if the bladers are worth his time, much to Toko and Nika’s exasperation.
• No Indoor Voice: Hardly an episode goes by when he isn't heard yelling.
• Our Spirits Are Different: As an avatar, Z Achilles is Aiger’s bey partner, but he’s one of the few spirits outside of Spryzen Requiem that visibly speaks to its owner in Burst.
• Pint-Sized Powerhouse: For someone who just recently started Beyblade, him racking up a 100-win streak is really saying something. Plus, he's as short as Valt was back in season 1.
• Poor, Predictable Rock: The main reason why he lost to Hyde twice in a row. He taunts Aiger and tricks him into keeping Achilles in Attack Mode out of anger, making Aiger predictable.
• Power Makes Your Hair Grow: When he gets really fired up in a battle, his hair comes loose, turns red, and grows wilder.
• Put on a Bus: Is replaced by Drum Koryu as season 4's main protagonist, and has yet to be seen or mentioned.
• Red Is Heroic: His bey and aura are red.
• Red Oni, Blue Oni: The red to Valt's blue, in terms of both aura & bey colors and personalities.

  • For Z-Achilles
    • Z Launch A standard angled launch to attack an opponent in the center of the stadium.
    • Z Breaker: With the Xtend Tip on its higher setting, Z Achilles attacks the opponent from a downward angle to circumvent some abilities of the opponent.
    • Z Defense: By spinning at high speed, Achilles uses its short edges to deflect incoming attacks and return damage.
    • Z Whip: With its top set to lower mode, Achilles hits the opponent's bey head on, using its long, sword-like edge to slash across the opponent's layer.

    • Cho-Z Shield: By ricocheting off a wall, Cho-Z Achilles tilts and defends against an Attack with the shield on its front face
• Small Name, Big Ego: In his first few episodes, he couldn't go more than a minute without bragging about becoming the 'strongest, most unbeatable' hero. Later on, he becomes more humble and grounded.
• Stronger Than They Look: Aiger has a surprising level of upper body strength, likely due to having spent his entire life swinging from treetops, climbing mountains, (etc.).
• Super-Powered Evil Side: His high resonance with Achilles slowly begins to corrupt him, leading him to destroy Valt's Wonder Valtryek.
• Took a Level in Jerkass: After developing his Super-Powered Evil Side, Aiger becomes even more cocky and incredibly aggressive, throwing tantrums whenever he loses, refusing to see any fault on his end, and lashing out at his friends when they try to console or help him.
• Took a Level in Kindness: After being freed from the dark power (albeit after losing Z Achilles), Aiger is much more humble and willing to establish a proper bond with his new Cho-Z Achilles.
• Wrecked Weapon: Z Achilles is destroyed by Phi in episode 37. Fortunately, Z Achilles is rebuilt an episode later into Cho-Z Achilles

Naru Akaba(ne)

• Annoying Younger Sibling: She can be this to Aiger sometimes.
• Big Brother Worship: She's very supportive of her brother and looks up to him.
• Curtains Match The Windows: Like her mother, Naru's hair is the same color as her eyes.
• Cheerful Child: She's very friendly and happily helps her older brother care for the animals in the school's petting zoo.
• Farm Girl: Just like her brother, she grew up on a farm before his desire to become a Blader led them both to Beigoma.
• Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: She's the responsible to Aiger's foolish.
• Ms. Exposition: She explains the different Bey types to Aiger when he first creates Z Achilles.
• Nice Hat: She wears a white beanie with a blue pom-pom on top.
• Red Oni, Blue Oni: She's the blue to Aiger's red, both in temperament and in color scheme.
• Token Mini-Moe: The new adorable moe kid character for Turbo now that Toko and Nika are in middle school. Fittingly, she's also Aiger's sister.

Ranjiro Kiyama

• Benevolent Boss: He treats the other members of his Bey Club well, and they like him back.
• Big Brother Instinct: He himself isn't an older sibling, but he later becomes quite protective of Aiger, especially after the latter develops his Super-Powered Evil Side.
• Big Brother Worship: He decided to take up Beyblading because of his older brother. The flashback in Turbo episode 3 implies that the two were very close.
• Blow You Away: Crash Roktavor's special move, Roktavor Typhoon involves using its metal wings to generate upper force to repel opponents. The move itself is very similar to Rantaro's Roktavor Zone.
• Hammerspace: He often carries around a large comb that he seems to pull out of thin air, much like with his older brother. Apparently, pocket dimensions run in the family.
• Improbable Hairstyle: Where he gets strong enough hair gel (and how he affords it) to maintain that upright 'do of his will forever remain a mystery.
• The Leader: See below
• Neighbourhood-Friendly Gangsters: The leader of one, the Wild Bey Gang. After Aiger defeats his gang members, he decides to teach Aiger a lesson.
• Only Known by Their Nickname: He's known as 'Socho' in Japan. In the dub, everyone calls him 'Cap'n'.
• Oral Fixation: Like his brother, he's always seen with a lollipop in his mouth, albeit a green one.
• Signature Move: Alongside Roktavor Typhoon, Ranjiro developed a new special move, Hurricane Counter: Crash Roktavor uses its Reach Frame’s spikes to counterattack a Beyblade if it attempts to strike at a lower angle.
• Strong Family Resemblance: Save for the hair and bandage placement, he's the spitting image of his older brother, Rantaro.
• Worthy Opponent: During their battle, Ranjiro comes to view Aiger as a worthy rival. When he and Fubuki reject Aiger's idea of creating a strategy for the three to beat Lui, he's the first of the two to compromise on a solution.

Fubuki Sumiye

• Berserk Button: Any mention of the word 'genius'. May be justified, given that he takes after Shu's hard work ethic.
• The Bus Came Back: He returns in Turbo Episode #20, and later partakes in the Battleship Cruise tournament.
• Cheerful Child: As shown in the Evolution season finale, he was quite excitable when he was younger.
• Early-Bird Cameo: Months after the International Blader's Cup, a young Fubuki, implied to be a freshman at Beigoma, appears in the finale of season two, asking Shu if he could battle him.
• The Leader: He succeeds Valt as the new captain of the Beigoma Academy Bey Club.
• Lightning Bruiser: For a Defense-type, Emperor Forneus is quite fast and nimble. Its special move, Emperor Guard involves using its 12-bladed Layer to deflect attacks, and it can use the Yard tip's outer rim to drift about the stadium to build up speed and power for its other special move, Emperor Drift.
• Making a Splash: Since Forneus is often depicted as a sea monster in mythology, Emperor Forneus' avatar is a giant shark.
• Put on a Bus: In Turbo #13, he decides to travel to America after some persuading from Shu.
• Red Eyes, Take Warning: Averted. Like Shu, he has red eyes but is not evil.
• Spell My Name with an 'S': His surname is spelled with a 'y' in the dub.

Suoh Goshuin (Genji)

• Artifact of Doom: Heat Salamander was crafted from a cursed family heirloom called the Dragon's Fang.
• Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Suoh acts well mannered and friendly, but underneath that smile is an arrogant, judgmental adversary who holds everyone in low regards, and even belittles Fubuki.
• Cherry Blossoms: Petals of cherry blossoms will sometimes flutter by when he makes an appearance. Perhaps justified, given he's a practitioner of ikebana.
• Demonic Possession: Subverted; the show drops hints that this is the case, but it later becomes clear that Suoh's behavior is all his own.
• Demoted to Extra: Despite being one of the main characters of Turbo, he gets less focus after the Battleship Cruise arc.
• Dub Name Change: Surname change. Goshuin —> Genji
• Eyes Always Shut: He usually keeps his eyes closed, but they open when he gets serious in battle.
• Evil Sounds Deep: In the dub, his voice becomes deeper and raspier when his bad side takes over.
• Facial Markings: He gains a red zig-zaggy mark on his right cheek after obtaining Heat Salamander.
• Fiery Salamander: His Bey, Heat Salamander, is based off of the eponymous mythical fire-breathing lizard.
• The Lancer: Before the finals of the Luinor Cup, Suoh was the second-in-command of the Beigoma Academy Bey Club, and Fubuki’s most trusted advisor before his betrayal.
• The Last of These Is Not Like the Others: In the original Japanese, unlike every other Blader, Suoh's special moves are all in Japanese rather than English. Furthermore, in both the original Japanese and dub, his special moves have very grandiose names.
• Our Dragons Are Different: Heat Salamander's avatar manifests as a draconic lizard beast with purple flaming wings.
• Perpetual Smiler: He rarely ever drops his smile.
• Peek-a-Bangs: His white hair completely covers his right eye. When in battle, his bangs flip to cover his left eye.
• Playing with Fire: His Bey is fire-based, and all of his special moves have something to do with fire as well.
• Put on a Bus: He is last seen riding a chopper back to Japan after being eliminated from the Battleship Cruise
• Signature Move:
  • Swirling Inferno: A strong attack with Salamander in Defense Mode.
  • Rain of Swordfire: In Attack Mode, Salamander dives down on the opponent, with the Layer rather than the Driver.
  • Crimson Lotus Blaze: Salamander takes the center of the Stadium and improves its Defense.
• Split Personality: Usually very calm and composed..until he gets Heat Salamander, after which he reveals a fiercer, more ruthless side to him.
• Supernatural Gold Eyes: His eyes are usually shut, but they glow a fierce gold when in battle.
• We Used to Be Friends: By the time of their battle, Suoh completely disowns Fubuki as a friend. However, by Turbo #42, they seem to have made amends.
• Wrecked Weapon: His old beyblade was destroyed in between his battle with Lui before the start of Turbo. According to his conversation with Fubuki, he is designing a new beyblade, which is later revealed to be Heat Salamander.

Houi Oh (Hae-jin)

• Does Not Know His Own Strength: In his debut episode, he broke the launch power measuring machine used to register for the Luinor Cup. He still got in, though.
• Dub Name Change: Houi —> Hae-jin in the dub.
• Demoted to Extra: After being eliminated from the cruise.
• Fashionable Asymmetry: His attire consists of a black mono-sleeve shirt.
• Friendly Rival: In contrast to Ranjiro, Fubuki, Suoh, and Koji, Hae-jin is one of Aiger’s strongest yet friendliest rivals, often advising Aiger while also remaining competitive, albeit not to a negative level.
• Gentle Giant: Like Xander, he's the tallest and most muscular character of the Turbo cast, but wouldn't hurt a fly.
• Heroic Build: See above.
• Red Eyes, Take Warning: Like Shu, Fubuki, Xander, and Akira, he has red eyes, but isn't evil.
• The Straight and Arrow Path: He's an expert archer, and he even launches his Bey much like an archer would.
• The Unsmile: He has difficulty smiling properly, much to Naru and Aiger's dismay. However..
• When He Smiles: He smiles for real after his battle with Aiger in Turbo #12, and it's a very pleasant sight. Unfortunately, Aiger doesn't get to see it.
• Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Quite literally, as revealed in Turbo #10.

Taiga Akaba(ne)

• Gadgeteer Genius: He's stated to be one of the best Bey trainers in the world, and is known for creating the world's first Turbo Bey.
• Good Parents: He loves both his children, and just wants to keep them safe from the dangers of Bey possession, even though deep down, he really did want Aiger to be a Blader.
• Like Father, Like Son: His son gets his competitiveness and tenacity from him.
• Papa Wolf: While his initial dismissal of Aiger is harsh, he wants his son to be safe and avoid the dangers of being exposed to Turbo metal. His worst fear is all but proven true later on.
• Unusual Eyebrows: He has slits shaved into his eyebrows.

Kanna Akaba(ne)

• Curtains Match The Windows: Her eyes are the same shade as her ginger hair.
• Good Parents: She loves her children, and advises Aiger to follow his dream while having Naru support him on the sidelines.
• Motherly Side Plait: More like side braid, but she wears her braided hair over her shoulder.

Koji Konda

• Ascended Extra: From a cameo with the rest of his siblings way back in season 1 to a supporting character in season 3.
• The Big Guy: The most physically gifted member of the Beigoma Academy Bey Club. He tends to be extremely aggressive, even compared to Suoh.
• The Cameo: Fubuki actually isn't the first Turbo character to be introduced before season 3, he is. Back in season one, he was introduced as Hoji's younger brother with the rest of his siblings, particularly appearing during the Area Selection Tournament.
• Strong Family Resemblance: He's basically Hoji, but with glasses and freckles.
• Unknown Rival: He really wants to defeat Aiger, and tends to act hostile towards him, but Aiga only treats him like a friendly rival.

Tobisuke

• Number Two: He acts as Ranjiro's enforcer for the Wild Bey Gang.

Harumi Hijikawa

• Gadgeteer Genius: He's the Bey Trainer for the Wild Bey Gang.

Benimaru

• The Big Guy: The strongman of the Wild Bey Gang, and the first to deal with Aiger and the main Bey Club with force.

Jonji

Gumita

• Deadpan Snarker: She's expressed her incredulity through even-toned commentary more than once.
• Hair Flip: She throws her hair over her shoulder after announcing a plan to get Suoh to cooperate with Ranjiro for their tag-team battle. Too bad it doesn't work.
• Pink Means Feminine: She wears a pink jumpsuit with red flame decal.
• The Slacker: She doesn't put more effort into anything than she needs to, and even then she only does so begrudgingly. The fact she tried to get Suoh to cooperate with Ranjiro proves she's got a good heart.
• The Stoic: There isn't much that fazes or excites her.
• The Smurfette Principle: The only female member of the Wild Bey Gang.

Phi

• The Ace: He somehow managed to soar through the world ranks undefeated.
• Ambiguously Human: He mysteriously appears in a forest where a meteorite fell to Earth, and is said to be immortal. Naru even asks if he's an alien.
• Ambition Is Evil: He, or rather Revive/Dead Phoenix, strives to become the strongest Blader in the world. To that end, he will seek out and crush other strong Bladers so that they cannot oppose him.
• Attack Its Weakpoint: When against Beyblades with the Cho-Z Awakening System, Phi aims his attacks at their Cho-Z Wings to deactivate the System, else he cannot destroy their Layers.
• Beauty Is Bad: He's one of the mostattractive Bladers in the series, yet his wanton destruction of other beys roots him firmly on the side of evil.
• Big Bad: Of Turbo.
• Big Brother Bully: Turned out to be this to Hyde when they were younger.
• Black Eyes of Crazy: When he activates his dark power, he develops black sclerae close to this effect.
• Call-Back: Revive Phoenix was created from a meteorite. Now, where have we seen that before?
• Cold Ham: He's usually calm and composed, but as Turbo #16 and #43 show, he has a penchant for dramatic entrances.
• The Corrupter: He's the one responsible for corrupting Aiger in the first place, and later appears to try the same thing with Shu.
• Disproportionate Retribution: He broke Laban's Vise Leopard just for peeking into his soul. Heck, his whole Start of Darkness happened all because his little brother picked the Bey that HE originally wanted (Hades).
• Evil Sounds Deep: He has a very deep voice in the dub, with the malicious agenda to match.
• Evil Costume Switch: After obtaining Dead Phoenix, he switches out his attire for a darker, more sinister look.
• Faux Affably Evil: His polite and friendly demeanor can make you forget that he's a frighteningly powerful Blader who isn't above destroying other people's Beys.
• Foil: To Red Eye. Both are strong Bladers who will destroy their opponents to get what they want. However, whereas Shu had been manipulated by outside forces and sought power following a string of traumatic losses to Lui and Free, Phi chose to become evil out of his own free will and destroys Beys for no reason other than for the sake of destroying Beys.
• A God Am I: He wastes no time boasting about being a 'god' and how 'no one can stand against a god' in Turbo #50.
• Hair Flip: Will sometimes do this before starting a battle, which highlights his arrogance. Observe◊.
• Hero Killer: Non-fatal example; as of Turbo #47, he has destroyed the beys of five Bladers. While three have long since been repaired, the other two are still not accounted for.
• Hoist by His Own Petard: Against Aiger, Phi sets up a custom rule where only Burst Finishes count for points, so the battle can only end (for him) with Cho-Z Achilles' destruction. Phi would have won via Survivor and Ring-Out Finishes in the beginning of the match if it weren't for that rule.
• Knight of Cerebus: After his destruction of Z Achilles in Turbo #37, any appearance from him immediately snuffs out whatever mood was present before, with a battle most likely following not long after.
• Leitmotif: His appearances will sometimes be marked with an ominous chorus. At other times, an organ pipe tune will play.
• Lean and Mean: He's fairly tall with a slender build, and one heck of a cruel goal to obtain via the destruction of his opponents' beys.
• Light Is Not Good: He has a very beautiful appearance and wields a fire-based bey, but as his entries inform, he is nowhere near benevolent.
• Lightning Bruiser: Phoenix is quite fast for a Defense-type, and is able to remove the armor on its layer to help increase its speed.
• Long-Haired Pretty Boy: Has hair that falls to his waist, and is quite handsome as well.
• Mask of Sanity: Initially presented himself as cool and collected, but after obtaining Dead Phoenix, his sanity seems to have departed.
• Mystical White Hair: He has white hair, is speculated to be immortal, and is one of the most powerful/abnormal Bladers in the series.
• Not So Stoic: He's calm for the most part, but his argument with Hearts following his loss to Aiger in Turbo #50 is the first time Phi has ever been shown shouting or getting legitimately angry.

• Playing with Fire: Revive Phoenix is based off the eponymous legendary immortal bird of fire.
• Purple Is the New Black: Upon tapping into his dark power, his normally fiery red aura turns dark purple. Revive Phoenix itself also becomes its Black Wing version.
• Purple Is Powerful: Gains a dark purple aura when using his Bey's resonance, and is a crazy strong Blader to match.
• Red and Black and Evil All Over: His new attire after getting Dead Phoenix is a black bodysuit with red accents to go along with his dark power. His new Bey is also of the same colors.
• Signature Move:
  • For Revive Phoenix:
    • Phoenix Break: The Friction tip's rubber comes into contact with the stadium, granting Revive Phoenix high speed movements and Attacks.
    • Revive Impact: Phoenix jumps up and dives down on the opponent.
    • Revive Crush: Using the opponent's attack, the Revive Armor is sent up in the air and crashes down on the opponent while Phoenix simultaneously crashes into the opponent from the opposite side, crushing them. This technique is typically strong enough to destroy an opponent's Layer.
  • For Dead Phoenix:
    • Dead Break: Performed in the same manner as Phoenix Break.
    • Dead Armor Press: See Revive Crush above.
    • Dead Stinger: Once its Dead Armor is removed, using the Friction tip's rubber, Phoenix launches the heavy Armor at the opponent. Capable of interrupting the opponent's Special Attacks. Has a variation similar to Dread Hades' Dead Gravity, where Phoenix circles around the opponent to continuously strike the Dead Armor into the opponent, who is pinned in the center of the circle by the launched armor.
    • Double Dead Stinger: If the opponent avoids a Dead Stinger, Phoenix knocks the ricocheting Armor back at the opponent.
    • Dead Stinger Press: At the same time as a Dead Stinger, Phoenix crashes into the opponent from the opposite side. It is much stronger than the Dead Armor Press.
    • Diving Dead Stinger Press: An aerial variant of the Dead Stinger Press.
• Shadow Archetype:
  • He's basically Shu if he were still Red Eye.
  • He also represents how Aiger could’ve ended up if he’d never been purged of the dark power.
• Shared Unusual Trait: He and his brother, Hyde both have Heterochromia iridum; one of each of their eyes is red.
• Soft-Spoken Sadist: He takes great pleasure in tormenting his opponents and treating them like tools, all while speaking with a calm, gentle voice.
• Spoiled Brat: Given that he started his Bey-shattering spree just because he didn't get the Bey he wanted as a child, he more than qualifies. Also doubles as a Royal Brat.
• This Cannot Be!: He's so shocked by his loss to Aiger in Turbo #50 that he can't even comprehend WHY he lost.
• Warrior Prince: Both he and Hyde are heirs to a royal family, and he himself is a powerful Blader.
• White Hair, Black Heart: His wild white hair contrasts with his dark demeanor.

Laban Vanot

• Color-Coded Eyes: His green eyes highlight his mystical abilities as a fortuneteller and his connection to nature.
• Fortune Teller: Is introduced as this, using different elements in nature (rocks, shadows, water etc.) to predict the future. This turns out to be a bad thing when he tries to see into Phi's soul in episode 24, as what he sees makes him leap back and growl.
• Leitmotif: A tribal chorus will often play whenever he's victorious in a battle or making a prediction with his fortunes.
• Panthera Awesome: Vise Leopard is based off of the big cat of the same name.
• Speaks Fluent Animal: Has the ability to communicate with animals, such as a lizard and certain big cats.
• Wrecked Weapon: His Beyblade, Vise Leopard, is destroyed by Phi in Episode 24, but is later repaired in #45.

Xhan Bogard (Xavier)

• Antiquated Linguistics: He speaks like a hero hailing from legends of old.
• The Ace: One of the four members of the Turbo 4, the strongest generation of Turbo bladers. In his debut alone, he defeated another member of the Turbo 4, Hae-jin, and Aiger. By the end of the Battleship Cruise, he's around third to fourth place, only behind Aiger and Phi, coming closest to beating the latter and barely losing to the former after several battles.
• The Bus Came Back: Returns in #44 of Turbo to help Aiger train with Cho-Z Achilles.
• Crippling Overspecialisation: Has the same problem as his mentor Xander, in that his strategy boils down to 'Attack. If attack is not strong enough, lose two clicks and use Tetra/Penta Saber'. Downplayed here as well, since Breaker Xcalius' attack power is still hard to beat.
• Dub Name Change:
  • Xhan —> Xavier in the dub.
  • Also, his bey: Buster Xcalibur —> Breaker Xcalius.
• Dump Stat: Similarily with Xander and his Surge Xcalius, Xavier's Xcalius' Breaker Mode also allows for powerful One-Hit KOs, but has poor stamina.
• The Hero: Thinks he is this. He's not, that's Aiger.
• Heroes Prefer Swords: He fancies himself a hero and wields a bey based on Excalibur, the legendary sword of Arthurian lore.
• Lonely Rich Kid: Implied by the fact that upon seeing him have fun with Aiger, one of the servants states in episode 44 that it's the first time they've seen Xavier so happy.
• Privileged Rival: To Aiger, being a prince in contrast to Aiger's upbringing on a farm.
• Pint-Sized Powerhouse: He's only a little taller than Aiger and a member of the Turbo 4, the four strongest Bladers of the next generation. Furthermore, he's a practitioner of martial arts and a pupil of Xander.
• Put on a Bus: Isn't seen for a while (save for a few cameos) after Valt and Aiger's battle in Turbo #28.
• Red Is Heroic: Fitting his belief that he is a hero, he wears red in his main outfit and his Battle Aura is also a red colour.
• Signature Move: Along with Dual Sabers and Triple Saber (see Xander's section above), Xavier has Tetra Saber (where while Xcalius is in Breaker Mode, the point on the 1' Forge Disc and the edge on the Sword Performance Tip align, creating 4-point attacks to deal massive damage) and later introduces Penta Saber, which uses the Dagger Frame to deal even more damage than Tetra Saber.
  • In Turbo episode 44, he introduces Impact Wall, which consists of Xcalius knocking the opponent's bey into a wall, then using the wall to lock on to its opponent and deal a devastating attack.
• Skilled, but Naïve: Overlaps with Sheltered Aristocrat. Given he's a member of the Turbo 4, his bey certainly packs a punch, but he had no qualms about revealing his most powerful attack to Kyle. Even after telling Kyle to his face that he doesn't trust him, he deems his shady actions beneath his suspicions.
• Spoiled Sweet: Being of royal birth has not diminished his nice demeanor one bit.
• Warrior Prince: If you count Beyblade as a form of combat.

Kyle Hakim

• Evil Laugh: He constantly chuckles to himself while observing the other Battleship participants.
• Fashionable Asymmetry: The right leg of his jumpsuit is cut off at the thigh.
• Karma Houdini: After collecting data off other bladers for Dead Gran, the worst he gets is being beaten in a beybattle against Aiga which breaks his mask, even then Kyle manages to taunt Aiga over his dark resonance and have to last word before never being seen again.
• Le Parkour: Kyle is fast and agile, able to wall jump and leap about without much difficulty.
• The Mole: He's revealed to have been collecting data from the characters during the Battleship Cruise arc to use for Dead Gran.
• The Prankster: Kyle had a bit of fun messing around on the Dark Betty ghost ship, trolling and pranking the hell out of Aiger & Ranjiro's group, and enjoying when they assumed he was the ghost.
• Put on a Bus: After being eliminated from the Battleship Cruise. He returns later to battle Free, and then Aiger at Dead Gran.
• Small Name, Big Ego: He spends the entirety of Turbo #18 insulting the Battleship participants who struggle to make it to the goal, and smugly calls himself a 'high caliber' Blader..only to end up losing to Aiger.
• Training from Hell: Implied, given he states that he had to endure 'horrid conditions' just to obtain Kerbeus. Of course, he only mentions this after Aiger asks if he's even slightly cold..because they're about to duke it out in the Battleship's cold storage.
• What Happened to the Mouse?: After exiting Dread Tower in Turbo #32, he is never seen again afterwards.
• Who Was That Masked Index?: Kyle wears a mask that closely resembles a dog, which he uses to hide his face to avoid giving away strategies based on his expressions. His face is revealed in Turbo #31 during a battle with Free.
• The Worf Effect: After his loss against Phi and Ranjiro, he hasn't won a single battle thus far, not even gaining a single point.
• Yellow Eyes of Sneakiness: Much emphasis is put on his yellow eyes when he removes his mask. Then there's the fact that he was essentially spying on the other characters..

Hearts (Hyde)

• Always Someone Better: Phi was this to him when they were children, and continues to be so in the present.
• Blood Knight: Despite feeling the pain of every strike an opponent lands on Dread Hades, Hyde's usual response is to get fired up. Even when it's shown that particularly strong attacks clearly hurt him, he dishes out as much punishment as he takes and then some.
• Character Tic: He has a habit of licking his lips/sticking his tongue out.
• Combat Sadomasochist: By virtue of having the same 'Dark Power' that Aiger develops, Hyde experiences Phantom Pains whenever Dread Hades recieves damage. It typically just excites him. Less so when he realizes he's gonna lose and especially not when against his brother.
• Dark Is Not Evil: He dresses in dark clothing, wields a dark-themed bey, Dread Hades, and has the exact same Dark Power that everyone worries about in Aiger. Unlike his brother however, he has no evil intentions to destroy other's beys and only battles for fun.

• Everyone Has Standards: Hyde might be intimidating at times, but he has never had the intention to destroy other people's beys. In Episode 47, he seemed to be genuinely shocked and disgusted after Phi breaks Shu's Cho-Z Spriggan.
• Hair Flip: Just like his brother, Hyde will sometimes flip out his hair before starting a battle, though it looks less arrogant and more wild in his case.
• Multicolored Hair: His hair is usually solid lavender-white, but turns pink at the ends when fired up in battle.
• Multiform Balance: By flipping the Turn Frame around, Dread Hades can be set in either Attack or Defense Mode. Ironically, Defense Mode grants Hades the stronger Special Attack.
• O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Recognized by himself towards his own powers of all things. Normally, Hyde only experiences Phantom Pains whenever Dread Hades is recieving damage. When battling against his brother Phi, and he starts experiencing these pains when Hades is the one attacking, he quickly realizes that something is very, ''very'' wrong.
• Odd Friendship: With Evel. Hyde is an expressive, overdramatic blader, Evel is a cool-headed analyst.
• Only One Name: Despite being of a royal family, he and Phi stand out for being two of few characters to not have any given surname, which makes one further question where they came from.
• Peek-a-Bangs: His hair obscures his red right eye.
• Perky Goth: As mentioned above, he dresses in dark clothing and wields a dark-themed bey, but he's quite the goofy and lighthearted person.
• Polar Opposite Twins: Hyde is the more lighthearted twin who only battles for the fun of it, whereas his brother seeks to destroy his opponents.
• Purple Is Powerful: His white hair has a lavender tint, his clothing and bey have purple accents, his special moves involve the use of purple energy, and he's a member of the Turbo 4, the four strongest Bladers of the Turbo generation.
• Practical Taunt: By taunting Aiger, Hyde tricks him into keeping Achilles in Attack Mode out of anger, making the former predictable.
• Shared Unusual Trait: As mentioned above, both he and his brother have Heterochromia iridium.
• Sibling Yin-Yang: Phi is calmer and more introverted; Hyde is more expressive and enjoys playing to the crowd. Later flip-flopped with Hyde becoming the more grounded one and Phi losing himself to the dark power.
• Signature Move: Dread Hades has two:
  • Dread Impulse: In Attack Mode, Hades strikes the opponent with its heavy weight.
  • Dread Gravity: In Defense Mode, Hades circles around the opponent at high speed, using its improved Defense to deflect the opponent's Attacks/escape attempts, 'crushing' them in an ever shrinking circle.
• Super Strength: He managed to tear apart a frying pan with his bare hands.
• Swapped Roles: He was initially the manic one upon his introduction while Phi was the level-headed one. As of Turbo #47, however, he seems to be the sane one while Phi has become..unhinged.
• Warrior Prince: Like his brother and Xavier, he's royalty and an active Blader.
• Wrecked Weapon: His brother destroys Hades in episode 41 of Turbo.

Evel Oxford

• False Friend: Betrays Hyde in episode 41 of Turbo to side with the former's brother.
• Odd Friendship: With Hyde. The former is an expressive, overdramatic blader, Evel is a cool-headed analyst.
• The Smart Guy: Like Naoki, he's a Beyblade scientist.
• What Happened to the Mouse?: After upgrading Revive Phoenix with the broken pieces of Dread Hades in Turbo #41, Evel isn't seen again, despite serving as the closest link to Hyde (besides Kyle, who had also gone missing) during the entirety of the Dread Tower arc.

Count Night(fell)

• Beware the Silly Ones: Nightfell might act goofy, but the fact stands that he has apparently stolen many beys and never been caught.
• Cool Mask: Wears one that covers half his face, perhaps to look more mysterious as he goes about stealing beys.
• Classy Cravat: Wears one as part of his attire. His personality, however, is anything but.
• Canon Foreigner: Up until #32 of Turbo, he had been a manga exclusive character.
• Dub Name Change: Night —> Nightfell in the dub.
• Gratuitous French: He often peppers his speech with French words/phrases, such as ' Trés bien' or 'C'est bon'.
• Leitmotif: Usually accompanied by an upbeat jazzy tune.

• Flaming Hair: Not to the extent of Lui, but the two blue portions of his hair flare up when he gets serious.
• High-Pressure Emotion: Much like Valt, Drum's face turns red when he gets nervous.
• Jack-of-All-Stats: Despite being an Attack-type, Ace Dragon can change modes like a Balance-type.
• Kid Hero: He replaces Aiger as the new protagonist for GT.
• Meaningful Name: His surname means 'yellow dragon', he wears yellow as part of his attire, and he wields a dragon-themed Bey.
• Multicolored Hair: Has blonde hair with two blue stripes on each side of his head.
• Multiform Balance: Ace Dragon is able to alter between three modes via customizing its Layer Base:

• Meaningful Name: His last name means 'blades of grass', and he wields a green bey and has green in his colour scheme.

• Meaningful Name: As per tradition for Burst characters, his last name has a colour in it—this time the kanji for 'gold', and he has blonde hair.
• Sibling Rivalry: His sister, Ichika is on the Victories, the team he resents; and the two don't seem to get along.

• Cool Uncle: He's Drum's uncle, a nice person all things considered, and a good coach for the Victories.
